by Rory G. McGlasson Hundreds of police and fire officials joined friends and family of a formerSsouth Philadelphia police officer yesterday, as he was saluted a “Hero” yesterday. A Plaque Dedication for Police Officer Ronald Trumbette yesterday marked the 100th police officer to receive a “Hero Plaque” memorial. Officer Trumbette was killed in the line of duty on May 23, 1975 at 900 S. 5th Street. The plaque will be placed at the site of his murder. (Cont. Page 2)

More Jail Time For Where Were You When The Quake Hit? Fumo? By Rory G. McGlasson Thousands of South Philadelphians still cannot believe the region was hit by a 5.9 earthquake on Tuesday. The talk of the town this week is all about, when, and where, were you when the largest earthquake in 118 years hit the area. Debbi Sinni of 1600 S. Broad Street said she pulled into the Chic-Fil-A parking lot on Columbus Boulevard on Tuesday afternoon; her son Andrew was in the fast-food restaurant getting lunch. Moments later, Sinni, 55, felt the quake. “My car went sideways, up and down, I couldn’t get out my car,” Sinni said. (Cont. Page 2)
