According to House Majority Leader-Elect Mike Turzai, there will be a bottom figure with no limit at the other end for properties.

“There’s a lot of hard work ahead, but I think we can get it done,” said Turzai, who will become Republican Gov.-elect Tom Corbett’s point man on the issue.

Osun Village Brings Odunde Spirit To S.W. Center City dream came true for Odunde, the trailblazing festival of African American culture held every June at the South Street bridge. Osun Village is a mixed-use development that features 16 affordable rental homes for senior citizens and 1,100 square feet of ground floor commercial space at 2308-2314 Grays Ferry Avenue in South Philadelphia. The development also features an on-site property manager as well as the ODUNDE, Inc. organizational and program offices.

A More-Silent Governor ov.-Elect Tom Corbett, who admitted having a rough weekend as he was pulled to a score of events at the Pennsylvania Society gathering New York, indicated he wasn’t answering questions about anything from anyone concerning his new role as Governor.

State Attorney General Corbett and his staff came under fire recently when the State Democrat Party accused him of “refusing to answer questions” and highlighted several news stories from various media outlets saying Corbett and his staff had failed to respond to questions.

Parents And Community Members Invited To Join School Advisory Councils he School District of Philadelphia invites parents and community members to participate in the formation of School Advisory Councils at local schools. Council members will have the opportunity to improve student achievement, stay up-todate about events at the school and have a vehicle to express opinions concerning the school. Members of the council may include: parents, community and faith based organizations, local/community business owners, elected officials, community residents, educators, and college or university representatives who directly work with the school.

Council To Air Police Issues

he City Council Committee on Public Safety, chaired by Councilwoman Donna Reed Miller, together with Councilman Curtis Jones, Jr., will hold a public hearing to evaluate the issues surfacing around the Phila. Police Dept. and the conduct of some of its officers tomorrow at 10 a.m. in Council Chambers.

The hearing hopes to collect information with an attempt to preserve the strong relationships between the Police Dept. and the civilians with whom it comes in contact daily.
