ing Director Rich Negrin. “Their dedication, diligence and experience will allow us to respond quickly and appropriately.” Prior to his work with the City, Mr. O’Keefe was a management consultant to FEMA. From 2001 to 2003, he served as an Emergency Preparedness Specialist with the New York City Office of Emergency Management where he helped coordinate the World Trade Center disaster response and recovery efforts. He also coordinated emergency response efforts during Hurricane Katrina. Murphy Talks Job Creation, Loses An Employee esterday, Congressman Patrick Murphy (D-BucksPhila.) was joined by a group of small-business owners from both political parties who endorsed his economic platform and explained why his plan to create jobs will help their companies grow.
Y
Murphy stood with business leaders from a wide range of fields such as construction, manufacturing, technology and retail. Murphy has fought for investments in infrastructure and technology to advance his “Make it in America Agenda” and allow us to compete with countries like China. He has also supported tax cuts and increased financing for small businesses so those companies can create new jobs. Many of the companies represented on Monday have been able to grow and create jobs because of Murphy’s economic policies. “I believe we need to make things 4|
in America again. That means investing in infrastructure and innovation, and giving tax cuts to companies that create jobs here in America,” said Patrick Murphy. “I’m honored to stand with companies who share this vision our country and I’m proud to be supported by the small businesses who create jobs in our community.” “Patrick Murphy’s policies have helped our company grow and create new jobs, despite the economic downturn,” said Troy Brennan, President of Iron Horse Excavating in Morrisville. “I support Patrick because he understands what it takes for a company like ours to succeed.” In the meantime, Murphy’s Chief of Staff Scott Fairchild was hired away by President Barack Obama’s Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, who in turn just quit his job to run for Mayor of Chicago. Republican Party of Pennsylvania spokesman Michael Barley was quick to deTHE PHILADELPHIA DAILY RECORD
scribe Fairchild’s move as “abandoning his position.” “How does Patrick Murphy expect voters to support his campaign when even his staff is jumping ship?” Barley said. “I guess we shouldn’t be shocked by the move. After all, Patrick Murphy is so embedded within the Democratic establishment of Washington, D.C., he’s trading campaign staffers with Emanuel. Patrick Murphy has served as nothing short of a rubberstamp for the Obama-Pelosi liberal agenda, so it’s not surprising that his staff is so closely attached with this Administration. After all, Patrick Murphy’s voting record reveals that Murphy votes in lock step with the Obama-Pelosi agenda: government-run health care, cap-and trade and a nearly $1 trillion stimulus package. He votes with Nancy Pelosi 97% of the time.”
