Presentation title

Station - A Well designed, fully functional, user-friendly, aesthetically appealing bus terminal that boasts of, not only serving the main function of transportation, but also addressing various aspects of accessibility and proper functioning of a bus station. This project, a design for the users, aimed at incorporating secondary functions such as commercial, administrative and recreational areas so as to lure users and cater for all their needs within the station, at their convenience. It is located on the periphery of the Nairobi CBD, towards City Stadium and adjacent to Muthurwa Hawkers Market.

The location of the site is strategic as it is in line with the government’s goal of banning the access of Public Service Vehicles into the CBD by providing pick up and drop off zones outside or on the periphery of the City Center. In an attempt to solve the problem of accessibility within & around a bus terminus, the idea is to come up with a free flowing design where processes influence the movement of the users (commuters & vehicles). This will help prevent unnecessary obstruction and congestion.
