T

he Muslim consumers in Metro Manila and elsewhere in the country are warned in buying meat products at supermarkets to properly read first the ingredients they are buying if it is really halal food or not. Gerry Salapuddin, administrator and CEO of Davaobased Southern Philippines Development Authority (SPDA). warned Muslim consumers through his social media account to beware of “Pork Leg” inside a plastic package labeled as „Halal‟ sold in Manila supermarkets.

hile other countries are now in the process of vaccinating their citizens against Covid-19, the Philippines is still playing "eenie meanie miney mo" regarding which vaccine to buy for its citizens. While the big cities in the country have taken the initiative in choosing (and covering the cost) of vaccinating its most vulnerable sectors, the national government is still to show some urgency in the immediate nature of the situation, considering that it had borrowed copious amounts ostensibly to purchase the vaccines. MWL reveals new logo in line with its mission

The Muslim World League (MWL) on Monday revealed its new logo during a meeting chaired by the organization‟s secretarygeneral, Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim AlIssa. The MWL is an international nongovernmental Islamic organization based in Makkah.

The Seikh Karimul Makhdum Mosque in Bohe Indanan, Simunul, Tawi-Tawi, said to be the first mosque built in the Philippines.

The spokesman of the interim Bangsamoro government has bluntly rejected a move by Basilan Rep. Mujiv Hataman for a midterm-review on the new autonomous entity‟s performance, berating it as a subtle plot to “derail” the snowballing Congressional stride to postpone the 2022 election of regional parliament members.
