CRHC Outdoor Walking Trail & Exercise Stations
Patients, staff and community members are invited to enjoy a scenic, quiet walking trail on Clarinda Regional Health Center's Campus! Our trail includes several inviting features:
• Three (3) Outdoor Exercise Stations for anyone's fitness level
• Trail surrounding CRHC's campus, both paved and unpaved areas
• Unique outdoor artwork (near the unpaved section of trail behind CRHC)
TRAIL INFORMATION
The outdoor walking trail is 1.03 miles in total length consisting of a concrete walking path to the East of the hospital’s main campus and a rock nature trail that extends to the South and West of the hospital.
The trail is available for the entire community to use and features ten pieces of outdoor exercise equipment that address all four areas of fitness: aerobic, muscle fitness, balance & flexibility, and core. Each piece of equipment has instructional signage and a QR code with workout tutorials. The outdoor exercise equipment was partially funded by a grant through the Clarinda Foundation’s 2021 grant cycle.
Six pieces of artwork from Robert and Karen Duncan’s collection are also featured on the walking trail. The art is from Mike Nesbit's FLOOD series and is six large-scale panels that seem to hover in midair. The FLOOD artwork featured had previously been on exhibit at the historical Standard Oil Building in downtown Omaha. The artist, Mike Nesbit, made several trips to Clarinda Regional Health Center’s campus to see the installation of FLOOD was as he wanted. All of this happened through careful collaboration with the Clarinda Carnegie Art Museum Curator and Karen and Robert Duncan.
The walking trail complements the Clarinda Regional Health Center facility nicely and is another outlet for employees, community members, and visitors to work towards a healthy lifestyle.

This annual event is one of the largest craft shows in the state of Iowa. This show draws 225 craft exhibitors from Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Minnesota, Wisconsin and all parts of Iowa.
More than 475 craft booths fill the Page County Fairgrounds-Wibholm Hall and Cow Palace, Clarinda Academy Gymnasium, Clarinda High School Gymnasium and Clarinda Lied Center Gymnasium.
Free shuttle services and parking available. Admission is $5 per person which includes entrance at all five building locations. Children ages 10 and younger are free.
