Let’s face it. We all take these guys and gals for granted. How often do we take the time to stop and thank the people who, regardless of what else they have going on — regardless of the time of day — night — time of year — regardless of weather and road conditions — leave the comfort and safety of their own homes, often putting their own lives between us and harm’s way. That’s why the staff of the Maryville Daily Forum and The Post decided to publish this Local Heroes special section. Especially in today’s complicated social environment, law enforcement, fire protection, and first-responder personnel need to hear — need to feel — our support.
