Halloween is fast approaching!

AED Availability Throughout PCC’s Campus The expansive PCC campus, and the variety of recreational activities offered, supports PCC’s prioritization of AED (Automated External Defibrillator), CPR and First Aid as a major ongoing training initiative for our Staff.

We are very fortunate to have our Aquatics Director, Michael Hay certified to instruct these very important classes. This year, the certified staff members from a variety of departments in the proper use of the AED, CPR and First Aid practices and we even offered a course for our members and their children to also become trained and certified. We will be offering this class again in the fall with dates and details to be announced soon.

According to the American Red Cross, sudden cardiac arrest is one of the leading causes of death in the United States and they forecast that over 356,000 people will suffer from cardiac arrest annually. The average response time, once 911 is called, is 12 minutes and for each minute defibrillation is delayed; the survival rate is reduced 10%. The Club has strategically located AEDs throughout the property in order to reduce this response time to render lifesaving aid in the event of an emergency.

AEDs are available at seven campus locations: • Reception Lobby Coatroom (wall mounted on the right side as you enter the coatroom) • Summer House (wall mounted behind the in the hallway between the Citrus Tree kitchen and

the Racquets Lounge) • Fitness Center (wall mounted) • Grounds Maintenance Facility (wall mounted on the lower level facing the street) • Squash Building (wall mounted on the lower level) • Shooting Lodge (portable unit behind the check-in desk) • Golf Shop (wall mounted behind the Caddie Master desk area) In addition, the Player Assistant will have an AED with them on their Golf Car when on the Golf Course.

In the event of an emergency on property, please dial the receptionist to report the incident. The receptionist will call 911 and alert Club Staff to immediately initiate our emergency response team and plan. We recognize that a prepared and educated Staff will provide the quickest and most effective response to an emergency.
