atrick Henry College’s academic reputation is derived from excellence in the classical liberal arts and apprenticeship methodology, preparing
students for faithfulness in life, graduate or law school, and employment. Our students are among the nation’s most creative thinkers and articulate communicators. PHC has won 9 of the last 12 ACMA National Moot Court Championships and regularly earns the highest commendations in National Model United Nations and in debate. They fearlessly and passionately apply Biblical Truth in responding to the needs of their neighbors and the nation, whether by bringing an end to human trafficking, protecting the nation from its enemies, or shoveling snow for the elderly in the community. These men and women, whom I’m privileged to serve, look beneath surface arguments and cultural slogans; they consider all sides of an issue, engage in substantive conversations, and then form careful conclusions. These students are charged to preserve religious and constitutional liberty for their generation and the ones to follow. They are inspired to live integrated lives in which both faith and reason inform all aspects of their experiences. PHC students are challenged by the highest quality faculty; their character is developed in safe spaces where they can authentically voice their struggles and receive Godly counsel. PROJECT SAILS® “Project SAILS® began in 2001 at Kent State University with the goal of developing a standardized test of information literacy skills that would allow libraries to document skill levels for groups of students and to pinpoint areas for improvement.” Used by over 200 institutions, the SAILS test is a nationally-recognized assessment of information literacy skills that demonstrates how well students can navigate the complex world of information, aligning these skills with standards developed by the Association of College & Research Libraries (ACRL), which PHC faculty have adopted. CHRISTIAN LIFE For the first time in Fall 2014, Patrick Henry College participated in the Christian Life Survey administered by the Taylor University Center for Scripture Engagement. The CLS was a 30 minute survey completed by over 6,000 traditional-aged, Christian students at 22 US Christian College & Universities. When compared to students at peer institutions, PHC Students indicated 10% higher agreement that the spiritual life on campus is “EXCELLENT” and 14% higher agreement that students “CARE ABOUT THEIR SPIRITUAL LIVES.”
