GET OUTSIDE AND SEE…

DISCOVER THE FUN…

Art on the Trails

at Cosca Regional Park

Visitors hiking the Department of Parks and Recreation trails will be pleasantly surprised when they stumble upon original artwork created on the trail for that location. Art on the Trails recycles, reuses and repurposes materials found in nature such as downed trees and other natural materials and changes them into sculptures that reflect native wildlife. Working as a team with an artist, tree crews, naturalists and park rangers, young people learned the importance of protecting the environmental by creating art from found materials. For more information and an up-to-date list of sculptures, go to www.pgparks. com›YourParks›Trails.

Louis F. Cosca Regional Park in Clinton is situated on 500 acres of rolling, wooded terrain and offers a variety of recreation for any outdoor enthusiast. Stroll or hike one of several richly preserved trails. Play baseball or tennis in the athletic area. Enjoy lakeside activities or learn about the wonders of nature at Clearwater Nature Center. Go camping or rent a paddle boat.

PLAY AND LET YOUR IMAGINATION RUN WILD… at an Imagination Playground! Visiting some new (and very unique) park playgrounds is certain to put a smile on everyone’s faces. Using our new passport guide, discover all of the newest “Imagination Playgrounds”- amazing, themed play areas designed with attractive, colorful equipment to promote children’s imagination. Pick up a passport at your nearest community center or email public.affairs@pgparks.com. Visit www.pgparks.com›YourParks›Imagination Playgrounds for more information.

Resident Registration and Fees The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission policy gives priority to Prince George’s County residents during program and class enrollment; it also increases registration fees by approximately 20 percent for non-residents, or those living outside Prince George’s and Montgomery Counties. This procedure ensures that the citizens who fund these programs through their tax dollars have the first option to enroll. After the priority registration period, registrations are accepted from residents of all jurisdictions. The fee schedule applies to all Commission programs and facilities in Prince George’s County, with a few exceptions such as performance tickets and historic site admission fees. *NOTE: Full payment is due at registration unless a class or program has a scheduled payment structure i.e. Kids’ Care, Trips & Excursions. Need help? E-mail the Park and Planning Help Desk at help4smartlink@pgparks.com.
