Butler seniors dine, drum and indulge their “sweet tooth” at luncheon Nearly 150 seniors from throughout Butler County came together on May 19 to dine, drum and enjoy the day. The event, held at Tanglewood Center in Lyndora, was in celebration of Older Americans Month. All Butler County adults ages 60 and older were invited to participate.
Attendees were treated to a delicious lunch of cabbage rolls, mashed potatoes, peas with pearl onions, and peach pie, catered by The Nutrition Group in Gibsonia. After lunch, master drummer and famed local musician Jim Donovan got everyone playing upbeat music
with jembe drums, rattles, shakers and other small instruments. He also gave a fun, informative presentation on the health benefits of drumming.
