Residents are warmly invited to drop in and exchange views over a cuppa and a chat with parish councillors on a regular basis, as we visit some of the lovely local cafés in Charlton Kings.

Over the next few months you will have the opportunity to meet various councillors to discuss aspects of our work to support the community in these difficult times. We began in September with a drop-in at Moosh in Church Piece, where we continued the consultation process for the environmental planting on Grange Field and received some really positive input following our recent Autumn Fayre.

The focus for October was Health and Wellbeing at ‘The Front – Community Hub’ on London Road.

Each round is made up of 150-400 copies per month. The rate of pay is 6 pence/copy. Depending on property types, our current team of people average between 100-150 copies/hour (equivalent to £6£9/hour). Magazines are delivered to Distributors’ homes towards the end of each month and we expect deliveries to be completed within four days between the hours of 7am and 9pm. You must be 13+ years old, flexible, reliable and sufficiently physically fit to perform the duties.

The Local ANSWER NOVEMBER 2022

On Wednesday 2nd November, the drop-in will be at Kings Café on Church Street, themed around the climate and our environment. Councillors will be there to talk about all aspects of our work and are keen to hear your questions and suggestions in a relaxed and informal atmosphere.

Future sessions will be advertised on our website, notice boards, social media and in local businesses and schools.

We actively encourage volunteering to help with some of our work, and we welcome those who are interested in exploring the possibility of joining our team as a parish councillor. The drop-in sessions are a good opportunity to have conversations about how you could become involved!
