Short stories

One day, two summers ago, me and my family were on a boat. Me, my sister and my parents to be exact. That day we decided to test our boat because it hadn’t been in the water for months. We were sailing across a canal which is basically a path between two islands. A canal has very strong water flow and it is very dangerous. Our boat powered down and it didn’t want to restart. It was moving with the strong waves and the wind. I genuinely thought we were going to hit land or just die. Luckily, we had an emergency paddle, so we slowly rowed out of the canal and were stuck in the burning sun. The boat restarted about half an hour later and I was very relieved. Luckily, I’m used to being on a boat and knowing basic safety hazards and some first aid. We got back home safely.

My story began last summer. One night I was watching TV when suddenly my mum rushed into the living room. I could see that she was nervous. She asked me if I had seen our dog. I said no and asked why. She said that she hadn’t seen our dog since the afternoon which was about three hours before that. When she told me that, I also started to worry because we never have our dog outside alone for more than an hour.

We went outside and started shouting out her name in hopes that she would come, but we didn’t get any response. I called my sister so we could all search for her. We were looking for her for about 15 minutes in our neighbourhood but we didn’t find her. I started thinking of all different scenarios about what had happened. I thought that someone had kidnapped her. I called my cousin who lived in the neighbourhood right next to ours. I asked her if she could go outside and look for her. Of course, she said yes. We were all searching for her for another 20 minutes but we didn’t find her. We almost started losing hope when I saw a shadow under the light. I immediately ran towards the light and I couldn’t believe my own eyes. I shouted that I had found her. My family ran towards us and I could see the relief in their eyes.

This was a very traumatizing experience for us. I hope it never happens again.

One day I went to sleep with my hair wrapped around a heatless curler. Because it was slightly uncomfortable sleeping on the side, I decided to sleep on my back. A few hours later I felt like I woke up, but I couldn’t move. On the side of my bed there was a scary demon staring at me. Suddenly it got up and started waking slowly towards me. It was hard to breathe and the only things I could move were my eyeballs. It got very close and I wanted to close my eyes but I couldn’t. A few seconds later it disappeared and I could move again. I realized it was a sleep paralysis and it was terrifying.

Last summer I was going to Canada. I was with my friend. We were talking about something when suddenly the pilot had a heart attack. After they announced the death of the pilot everybody started to panic. When the plane crashed, I woke up and everybody except for my friend had died. I soon realized that we were on an island. We then searched the plane for supplies. We searched and found a radio. Luckily, I knew how to use the radio. After six hours a helicopter came to rescue us.

Me and my friend Michael were on a plane. We were travelling from Slovenia to Switzerland. We were looking through the window when suddenly the engine broke. Then the pilot said that we didn’t have to worry. The plane safely landed on a nearby airport. We were scared, but in the end, all went right. We just came to Switzerland five hours later.

A haunted house

There is an old house near me. It has been abandoned since I knew that it exists. It was always pretty scary because there were plants growing out of broken windows. One thing that always scared me besides the broken windows was that no sunlight came in even though the house had a lot of windows. I even heard some ghost stories from friends that went past the house at night. There was one story that stood out though and it was a story that my best friend told me. He told me that once he was brave and went into the house but quickly figured out it was a very bad decision. He said he walked around a bit and tried to be quiet just in case somebody was in that house beside him. He said he was pretty good at staying quiet. After a while of looking around my friend decided to go to the basement which was like an abandoned dungeon. It was very big and scary but he said to himself if I got that far I should finish exploring. He went deeper and deeper into the dungeon and then stepped on something that made a sound. After that he felt something looking at him and almost touching him. He didn’t even look behind him, he just immediately ran from upstairs and through the door in probably less than a second. He told us all of this the next day and after that everybody is now scared of that house and nobody wants to go near it anymore.

Haunted Slovenia

One of the most beautiful castles in Slovenia is located in Brestanica – the Rajhenburg Castle. There is a large castle on the hill and a smaller one at the foot. Legend has it that the two brothers lived in those castles, but they hated each other so much that they literally couldn't see each other. One day they happened to be looking out the windows and saw each other straight in the eyes. People say that after some minutes both of them got upset and anxious, so they both committed suicide and shot themselves in their heads. Their skulls are still in the museum and some say that if you would try and turn them against each other, you would start hearing and seeing paranormal things. The bigger castle is also said to be home to many other ghosts.

A strange dream

I had a strange dream last night. The dream began when I woke up. At first, everything was normal but then someone knocked on the door, but when I got up to check who it was, there was no one. As I was walking back to my bed I saw a shadow of a person in the window. It was strange, so I decided to go check it out. As I was getting closer to the window, the shadow began to disappear, but when it completely disappeared, the window broke and glass fell on the garden. While I was looking at how glass was falling so slowly, I realized that there was a dead body under my window. Although it was so scary, I decided to go check downstairs. When I was walking through the hallway, I heard footsteps, but I didn’t see anybody, so I thought I was just terrified and I heard something that wasn’t even happening. But as I was walking upstairs, something patted my arm. As I turned back, I saw an old lady from my neighbourhood who had committed suicide years ago. Finally, I woke up and I remember that as soon as I woke up I checked if my window was broken because I was so terrified. But on my way to school I saw some glass on the floor.

Ghost Story

Last week I went to France on a trip through the country. But when I stopped at Marseille, I started hearing screeching sounds and the sky turned grey in a matter of minutes. I didn’t think a lot about it, so I went into the museum of medieval times. It wasn’t guided or anything. I was completely alone. I went into the execution chamber. That’s when I heard someone walking. Just to be clear I was alone in the room. There were voices saying »Oh, the executioner has come«. It was 8 PM and a ghost jumped out of its mascot. I was quite scared. Then there was a voice saying »Oh somebody wants to join us«. The ghost went back into the mascot and I ran out and locked that door shut. I left that museum immediately.

Lionel Messi is a professional football (soccer) player from Argentina. In his career, he won a lot of important awards. He even got the most prestige one, called Ballon d’Or (several times). Only the best football players get this award. You must be the best footballer of the year to get it. Messi has won this award six times in his life and he will probably win another one this year, because he and his team won the World cup. Leo is recently playing for PSG, but he will probably come back to FC Barcelona after this season (on summer). But this isn’t for sure, because a club from Saudi Arabia made an offer of 400 million payment per year for him, some time ago.

HOW HIS CAREER BEGAN:

Messi started playing football, when he was a young boy and in 1995, he joined a small Argentine team. He was really good for his age, and some great clubs started scouting him in 1997. At age of 13 Messi and his family relocated to Barcelona, and he started playing for the Spanish best (officially second best) football club – FC Barcelona. He was showing his potential in every match. The best footballer of all time scored 21 goals in 14 games for the junior team, and he quickly got into higher-level teams until at age of 16, when he was given his debut with FC Barcelona in a friendly match. Messi was getting better and better and after some time he got his first Ballon d’Or. In the following years, he and Cristiano Ronaldo were the best individuals and won a lot of awards and trophies. He scored many goals in his career, but his best qualities are assisting and dribbling. In my opinion he was, and still is the best footballer of all time.

Selena Gomez was born on July 22nd 1992 in Texas. She began her career first as an actress in 2002 on the TV show called Barneyandfriends .

She then started her music career on Disney projects, including singing the theme song for Wizards of Waverly Palace She released three albums with her former band, which were all hits because they reached the top ten on the Billboard 200. The first album is called Kiss and tell, the second is called Come and get it, the third has won many music awards.

I’ve started listening to her music in 2017. I haven’t been to any of her concerts, but I’d definitely like to go there some day. I think she is still one of the best music artists out there.
