A Note From Our Founder

We hope we can inspire you to "virtually travel around th is amazing to get in an airplane and travel...but sometime we we can't do it physically.. So then we can travel virtually together following our friends online and creating digital composites. People ask me why I created PetPix World. I have a lot of reasons... but one of them is to find a way to share with our loved ones the beauty of the world, to unite the pet community and, together, each of us can finally be united. One day I told my husband." if I don't take photos and videos I can't share with my dad our life and fun journey." Now finally for the first time I know TOGETHER we can share and travel around the world. I love Paris. I was there for my 25th birthday...today each of us we can go there simply by reading our magazine, listening to Petpix World Podcasts, watching our live interviews or taking our courses. We can't THANK YOU ENOUGH for sharing with us YOU and YOUR fur babies journeys. I am so EXCITED FOR THE FUTURE! There is so much to learn, see and expirience TOGETHER! THANK YOU!

Kitty and I got to walk the red carpet!! Kitty and I had the most amazing time at the San Diego Film Awards. Of course Kitty went as an actress and I was there representing my film locations here in San Diego. Everybody loves to meet Kitty and she loves meeting everybody giving them kitty kisses all the time. There were a few times during the event I could tell Kitty was a little nervous. I have spoken a few times here on this platform about the connection to the eyes of the dog. I have relied on the que "watch" in many occasions to get her attention and help her feel calm. This worked great during this evening and she was focused again. We have many exciting adventures coming up so stay tuned.

Houston & Whitney

People generally choose a breed of dog that best matches their personality.

I have had 17 Maltese since 1986. My TWO Maltese are Whitney & Houston. They are gentle mannered, affectionate, lively, playful, fearless, intelligent, energetic, loyal companions, who are graceful and extremely lovable. A beautiful and elegant breed that took me to the Mediterranean Sea/Island of Malta in 2006 in search of the History of the Maltese. Whitney and Houston were named after my admiration for the talented American Singer/Actress Whitney Houston and My Greatest Love of All... Children.

My precious babies are actually my 10th and 11th and were bought in San Diego, California. We drove across the United States as a Pregnant Whitney and Future Daddy Houston. God Blessed them as they were only puppies not yet even a year old themselves. Their SIX Maltese puppies were born May 1, 2022 at a local hotel. Happily, they were all adopted by loving new families. The puppy stories, photos, and adoptions will follow in upcoming PetPix WORLD Magazines.

A Whitney and Houston Calendar is published to support my voice for Homeless Animals and Abuse, which has been a dedicated platform ALL MY LIFE.

When Tyson saw his papa for the first time, he ran over to him and immediately jumped on his lap. As papa looked at Tyson’s big, beautiful puppy eyes Tyson started giving him lots of kisses and being playful It was no doubt on Papa’s mind this lovely baby was the one It was love at first sight Tyson particularly liked kissing and nibbling Papa’s ears Papa smiled, as this reminded him of infamous Mike Tyson fight when he bit his opponent ear! Papa loved his fun personality and did not think twice to take him home and name him Tyson!

Later papa joked I was so proud of myself when Tyson loved me and chose me to be his Papa only to learn later that Tyson is affectionate towards everyone he meets, Papa’s friends, family and even strangers! :) Tyson is now 5 and lives a fun and naughty life as a good boy with zoomis in Toronto, Canada! He is not afraid to hump anyone who does not want to play tug of war! :)

@tyson.the.good.boy

he Good Boy

He loves hiking with humans and he does it like a pro, finding best pathways to get through complex routs, he always keeps an eye on everyone in the group and makes sure no one is left behind, we adore him for his caring personality.

Tyson has a very expressive face and eyes, sometimes it feels like he can speak his mind like a human!

All these qualities plus his goofy personality, wide smiles and good looks, makes him a perfect photography model. It is not a surprise that our phones are filled with way too many amazing photos and videos of Tyson Having a dedicated social media to share his journey with everyone else and bring more joy to everyone’s life, was inevitable! He certainly loves to receive everyone’s attention, that is for sure!

Dog with a Purpose

Do you know that dogs choose you, way before you choose them? We come to your lives at the right time and sometimes during the darkest and lowest season of your lives. We have so much love to give, and we love you for who you are. We are well known to have the energy, so you can definitely borrow ours when you don’t have enough to stand on your own. We also give you endless hugs and kisses to uplift you when you feel low.

Allow me to share a story that will change your perspective in life, and will hopefully melt your heart. My mommy is Angel; my dad is Anjilou (a unique spelling of Angelo); and their firstborn is Anjela Faith. They prayed and waited for her for 13 years. Mommy and baby Anjela were both healthy, but for no definite reason they lost her on November 13th, 2020, during her 2nd trimester pregnancy. One in four pregnancy results in miscarriage; unfortunately they were one in four. They held their baby girl for only a little over two hours at the hospital. Her heart stopped beating in the arms of daddy; and even though they begged the hospital staff to take her to the NICU because her heart was still beating at the time, the doctors said she was not viable for life. For them, this was the darkest, saddest, and most painful moment of their lives. They were at the top of the mountain when they learned they were going to be parents; but in a matter of hours, they were dragged into the deepest valley. Baby Anjela was wrapped in a tiny crochet blanket and hat. During this precious time, they talked to her, sang her favorite song, and prayed for her. With tears overflowing, they were in awe of how beautiful and perfect she looked. It was a lifetime moment that they tried to squeeze into a very short time. They came home with a box instead of a baby. Needless to say, they were devastated.

Undoubtedly, my pawrents experienced the darkest season of their lives. They fell into a pit of unbearable pain. It was rather not a surprise that depression came very naturally. Everything seemed gloomy and weighted like a ton. Every little movement required an enormous amount of energy to accomplish. Soon, they felt that nothing else mattered to them, not the house they so joyously bought two years before, not the success in their careers, not even the laurels they both so majestically celebrated. The pain was so unbearable that they shut themselves out from the world. They had no idea how to get back to their feet again; how to cope with the pain; nor how to smile again. This all happened in the middle of the pandemic, and it made it harder to be around people. All of their family members were in the Philippines, so they could only show their support virtually. Fortunately, they had friends who expressed their love in action from flowers, meal drop off, gifts, prayers and in person visits (some even stayed outside their home, sang worship songs & prayed).

Dog with a Purpose

After a couple of months, mommy’s doctor recommended that she get a dog. They said dogs were the best therapist, but my mom doubted that because she disliked dogs and was even afraid of them. My dad persuaded my mom to just try it They started searching and applied to dog shelters, but none of them responded. This was during the height of the pandemic, so the competition to get a dog from a shelter was tough. Shelters’ inventory was low because of the demand for dogs at the time. As an alternative, they decided to look for an ethical breeder online and found one in Pennsylvania. When mommy saw my photos, she couldn't explain the strong connection, that there was something special in me. I was the smallest in the litter. I was only four pounds during that time My three brothers and one sister were all brown, while I’m white with tan markings.

Anjela’s due date was supposed to be April 24th, 2021 so their hearts were so heavy during that time. They got me on April 26th, and then I saw mommy & daddy start to smile again It was a precious moment. I did not leave mommy’s arms when she picked me up. I was excited to be part of their family From that moment on, their lives started to change. Mommy started to train me from that day and we’ve come a long way Both my pawrents are teachers and they love to share my therapeutic powers with their students as well, so I started taking formal classes and training to be a school therapy dog. My mommy changed from being afraid of dogs to becoming

a dog trainer. We have a very special bond. Even though mommy is still going through some chronic medical issues, she now has a reason to wake up every morning and to be healthy again. I am not a replacement for their baby Anjela, she will always have a very special place in their hearts that I can never fill. They miss their little angel in heaven every single day. For now, I am their little angel here on earth and I bring a different kind of happiness and I shower them with all my love and kisses.

In the middle of their brokenness and pain, they choose to reach out to other bereaved parents by turning their pain into purpose. They started a mission project called “Anjela’s Box” to bring comfort and peace to parents who lost their baby. This is a simple way to let the bereaved parents know that they are not alone. Anjela’s box set includes a hat, blanket, small bear, certificate of life for the Angel Baby, a special jewelry item, devotional healing journal and resources for the bereaved Parents. This is Anjela’s legacy and this is how we can make her memories alive. My fur friends and I started a Pink & Blue campaign for Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness for the month of October. We partnered with small businesses on Instagram, who will donate part of their sales to Anjela’s Box. Kindly check them out so you can also support us:

The Story OF Three Special Dogs

Hello, We got our big boy rescue in 2013. His name is Milton and he is 11 years old now. He is very sweet and loving caring baby boy. After my right leg surgery and stroke my health is not too good. I have had my right side affected by surgery and swelling and very much pain. My husband one day brought a surprise to me Baby Milo from a breeder when he was 8 weeks old and we are enjoying him so very much Milo is helping me with my health condition. I enjoy walking with him, caring and loving him. We know that I am becoming healthier than before him. And we love to get Milo for little sister because his big brother Milton is not playing with him. Milo is 5 1/2 years old. He was born on January 14. We got him from our friend's breeder. She also gave us Lain Lain. When we got her she was only six weeks old. She will be 5 years old on August 23,2023. When we brought her home they were loving and caring for each other until now. I want to say that all Fur Babies are not pets, they are family members. And they are watching out for us all the time. A lot of my health is very good now because of these three babies. They are taking care of me and loving, kissing and playing with me. They are making me feel so special and keep me busy every day. We love them so very much and they are our hearts. One more thing I love to say when you have Fur Babies your life is wonderful and healthy. Thank you so much .

New Concept: A Planner for Insta-Dogs!

Earlier this year, I was astounded by a recuring challenge that came up as I conducted a plethora of interviews for my first book, “Behind the Scenes: The Mysteries of the Dogs of Instagram.”

So many spoke of no real system to keep track of all the dates and other items needed for their Instagram account. You might be like me I could relate! I too have struggled to find a way to stay organized for all the accounts and besties to like & comment, their gotcha days, birthdays, gifts, dog mom names, future plans for posts, hashtags to remember, addresses and contact info, along with so many other things.

We need one place to keep track of it all! That is why I put together this new book, “Behind the Scenes: Social Calendar & Planner for The Dogs of Instagram.” It is an agenda and will be on Amazon soon ~ in time for holiday gift giving.

Together with quips & quotes there is space for all your personal details, wish lists, party plans, wardrobe inspirations and more. Other sections to fill in include an address book, a month by month planner, holiday cards and gifts with tracking, new accounts to consider, and websites, magazines, books & blogs to read for inspiration and education.

As an extra bonus we composed a section with intriguing information from Insta Famous influencers who gave us their “Cliff Notes” on how they attracted so many followers and the tips & tricks they learned along the way.

It is my hope this agenda will be an invaluable tool to help streamline our fur babies’ accounts and de stress our days!

A Tribute to The Late Queen

Romeo and Delilah are VIP’s for the amazing Furdrobe Brand in London owned and operated by Rachelle Fawcett.

They met while modeling for @furdrobe and were engaged shortly thereafter A virtual Fairy Tale Wedding was held in Brighton, England in 2019. Their wedding attire was designed and created by their special @furdrobefairydogmother, Rachelle.

In this photo

Romeo and Delilah are honoring Queen Elizabeth II wearing matching Jubilee bows designed by Rachelle @furdrobe.

Who could have failed to shed a tear at the sight of Emma, the Queens favourite pony with her favourite Hermes scarf draped over the saddle saying her last goodbye on The Long Walk at the Queen's funeral procession in Windsor. It reminded me of when I was invited to have a stall at the Royal Windsor Horse Show, a 5 day equestrian event held in the private grounds of Windsor Castle every year. The year was 2016 the year the Queen turned 90 and a special gala starring international celebrities, taking the audience on a musical journey of QEII's reign was to close the show and celebrate her Majesty's birthday in a style befitting a Queen! Busily sewing for months for this once in a lifetime opportunity, I finally was happy with my wares to vend at the 'Royal Farmers Market' knowing that I was going to be the smallest vendor in the entire show! My hand made bandanas and bowties attracted a lot of attention and I met an amazing array of people ranging from a Canadian Mountie to the Musical Director of the RAF who was standing in for Alfie Boe. I met some lovely girls, all dressed in tweed, who bought a few of my Royal Stewart tartan bandanas. (Royal Stewart tartan is the personal tartan of Queen Elizabeth II) They then told me that they managed the Queen's pony stud in Balmoral and had bought them for their estate dogs. This wasn't the only time that I had rubbed shoulders with someone from the Royal Household my brand Portobello Pup was named after the famous Portobello Road Market in London where I had a pitch until a new market was launched at Windsor just a stone's throw away from Windsor Castle and nearer to home, yes I live in the Royal County, and this is where I met one of my favorite customers, Jonesy. Jonesy had been injured whilst on tour, retrained and was now a Farrier in the Blues and Royals The Household Cavalry. We met again in London at a prestigious International Horse Show where I was exhibiting. Jonesy had

been injured whilst on tour, retrained and was now a Farrier in the Blues and Royals

The Household Cavalry. We met again in London at a prestigious International Horse Show where I was exhibiting.

Jonesy invited me to meet the horses in the Royal Stables. Up close and personal to these beautiful animals and hearing about their individual journeys was such a special experience. He then gifted me a horseshoe that he'd made earlier that day from the forge at the Royal Barracks in Knights bridge. So beautiful!

Seeing Emma standing without her rider not only brought a tear to my eye but also a wry smile when I saw the girls from the stud standing close by in their tweed uniforms and I thought of those dogs at Balmoral wearing those tartan bandanas I had made .. Rest in Peace Queen Elizabeth II Thank you for your service.

A Tribute to the Queen

My name is Mackenzie Rose. I am a two year old brindle French bulldog. I am the middle child and living proof that middle child stereotypes are untrue. My family and I reside in sunny south Florida. I am the only princess in my pack. I enjoy dressing up and wearing beautiful clothes and accessories, so I love to shop. My favorite activities are lying on the couch with cozy blankets and spending time on my mother's lap. My favorite pastime is ordering my brothers, Sir Quincy and Alchemist, around. If not, you can find me chewing on a good chew bone. I enjoy taking long strolls on the beach during the cooler months. My favorite hobby is posing for photos, and I get super excited when we receive packages. I request we open them immediately so I may try on our most recent purchases. But what I cherish the most is when my momma says, "Wow, you are so gorgeous."

Blue is my six year old long haired Blue Merle Chihuahua. Her favorite toy is lamb chop. When she watches TV she’s always on guard for animals on it. Her favorite past time is eating. Despite her chubbiness, her closet is full and she loves showing off her new outfits.

My Red A 2 1/2 year old long coat Chocolate Merle Chihuahua girl. She is quirky and funny. She shakes and rattles when it rains. Her favorite toy is an old sock which she greets you with when you come in. She loves to get dressed up and model for treats!

A Tribute to the Queen

Mishka, a Japanese Spitz, came to me when a her mum, who was like a sister to me, learned her condition was terminal. Mishka was living in Dubai with her mum and sister, Izumi. Her mum asked us to adopt her baby girl and have her join the Fuzzy Butt Crew who are 4 American Eskimo Dogs. Her mum, Tracey, had a last wish of her girls being placed in homes that she had handpicked. We lovingly accepted the precious gift that Tracey gave us.

I have the privilege of being able to see my friend in Mishka’s eyes everyday. Of note, Mishka’s sister, Izumi, is in Wales @boscoandizumi.

This bow was worn when Mishka and Halo went on the first “official” date to the Queen’s Jubilee and Halo said it was the beginning of their fairytale

Mishka is deaf and responds to hand signals. She also was severely abused prior to being rescued by Tracey. Modeling is wonderful recreation. She lights up for the camera and adores wearing clothes. She has her own armoire filled with her “fashion”. She will stand in front of the armoire until we pick out the outfit of the day.

Lily and her king of Kent are honored to be a part of Furdrobe and honoring Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Reggie lives in Kent England and I live in Nampa Idaho, we've both modeled for Furdrobe several years now and love Rachelle, at Furdrobe we feel it's important to show kindness and love to everyone.

Spotlight - Malissa Schmitz

Longtime supporter & designer Malissa Schmitz recently started traveling all the way from Washington state to Spartanburg South Carolina to not only design for the show but also to hit the runway as a model!!! Malissa took a few moments out of her summer schedule to give us a little insight into her world: How long ago did you start sewing/creating?

I got a sewing machine Christmas Day 2015. we had only had our dogs for a few months and it was extremely clear that Riley, my oldest dog, loved clothes and it was just easier to try and sew them myself. So Christmas Day 2015 my husband got me a sewing machine so I could sew some homemade puppy clothes.

Did someone teach you (if so who?) or were you self taught? It was a little of all 3 actually. My husband actually taught my daughter and girl scout troop how to use sewing machines and sew for their sewing badge. So he taught me the basics of how to work the machine and sew simple things. Most of what I do and have learned has been self taught, I do have a local lady who used to sew dresses and pet clothing and as her health declined, she showed me tips and tricks of how to refine and enhance my designs and outfits I was making. But I have never taken a professional sewing class or design class of any kind at all... just comes from me creating stuff upstairs when I'm bored, and teaching and pushing myself .

Do you have a favorite…apparel or accessories? My personal favorite accessory is a sleeveless frock or jacket that drapes over your outfit and flows behind you. Now I really love Bohemian gypsy type clothing that

flutters and moves with you, For dogs my favorite accessory is any accessory, but hats are probably my most favorite, and then necklaces and bracelets for their paw's shoes anything that accentuates the outfit. I even have sunglasses for my dogs but the hats are the best! When & how did Trixie come into your life? I got Trixie for Mother's Day present May 2016. She was about 6 months old and adopted off Facebook from a family that couldn't keep her. Of course, since then she has decided she rules the roost & does service dog training/work and goes with me everywhere Where does your design inspiration come from? Oh boy! The simple answer is everywhere.. Sometimes I'll look at a fabric and just know exactly what I want to do with it, sometimes I'll watch A TV show or see a dress When I'm at or watching fashion shows or drag shows and use those colors or lines for ideas to make an outfit for the dogs. Sometimes it's a season or holiday. It honestly just varies anything and everything can give me an idea of what I want to create for an outfit

by Jennifer Bartok Taylor

Spotlight - Malissa Schmitz

And sometimes it's just a candy soda high at 3:00 in the morning that have created some of the most dramatic and avant garde outfits that I love. Did you do anything fun this summer? I've gone up to Seattle to visit my dad a couple times this summer and walked on the beach because he lives up on an island. We've gone to Silverwood theme park and a couple of water parks. Lots of family time with our kids and grandkids which has been great. I didn't plan any big trip for the summer because I plan to do some travel early next year but you never know. I have tentative plans and lists and ideas for places I do want to travel to later this year and next so we'll see.

Did you binge watch anything on tv this summer?!? Oh my gosh. my husband and I are huge, huge Big Brother fans so we watch that every summer. And I'm currently binge watching warehouse 13. What are you working on right now?! I have 2 huge projects in the works. The first is Paws in the City runway and vendor event in November. The second project is i was asked to be a part of one of the New York fashion week shows~ so there are a lot of new designs are on the horizon!!!!

Her story began as a hobby when designing for her chihuahua dog named Princess and turned into what has been achieved in this time, which is to become a FASHION DESIGNER OF HAUTE COUTURE CLOTHING FOR PETS with INTERNATIONAL recognition.

As a designer, Juanit a has participated in international canine fashion events held in NEW YORK CITY (NEW YORK PET FASHION SHOW) (CELEBRITY CATWALK). Her designs have been paraded in catwalk events. In recent years her name has been nationally and internationally known as several international media have been interested in sharing her story, such is the case of Telemundo with Al Rojo Vivo, Univision with Primer Impacto and also the international chain of news. CNN shared her story in 2018, which gave way to a Taiwanese television station reproducing the same CNN story in its Taiwanese language. Also digital media from El Salvador gave way to a report on the work of Juanita Esparza and here in Guatemala they also gave information about the work done by her wife At the beginning of last year, Juanita Esparza was featured in Hong Kong. Her designs were exhibited in an exhibition in that country because of the Chinese New Year celebration and because 2018 was the year of the dog, Juanita was given the privilege of participating in this exhibition together with a designer from that country. She had the honor of doing this for the first time, the show began on January 26 and ended on March 1. Currently Juanita's designs have reached several countries around the world. and lately her name and that of Guatemala have been mentioned in newspapers such as THE NEW YORK TIMES

(on her website) and in January she was in a live interview for radio, W Colombia and a few weeks ago she was featured on Un Nuevo dia from Telemundo. But the most important thing that Juanita has achieved in this time is the rescue of street dogs, a task that is done non profit and with a lot of care and love, since she has not worried about getting her hands dirty and grabbing a dog. a dog almost in a state of death and they would take them to the vet and change their life completely. This involved completely leaving the glamour and the world of fashion, and this is achieved since part of the profits from her designs are invested in rescued dogs. That's why Juanita was awarded the KAAMIL AWARD in New York City, which is a tribute to Robbyne Kaamil who died in 2018 and was an activist and passionate person for defending animal rights. That is why Juanita Esparza received this award and will continue the Robbyne tradition with... Be a passionate animal rights activist. IG : Boshoun http://celebritycatwalk.com

Designer Arbie Goodfellow

I started creating in High School.. as a Figure Skater and ex Figure Skating coach I used to sew rhinestones, bugle beads and sequins on my competition outfits as well as design and embellish my students competition dresses later on. My heart is really in accessories ... as I adore antique jewelry ... I feel my designs come from really most everything which can drive me crazy at times. I can be on a walk and pick up a seed pod or twig or somewhere in Europe and see a shops awning colors or a tiny scrap of ribbon at a flea market and my design mode is off and running ... I can't turn it off . I keep a notebook with me at all times and scribble designs down often. This summer we stayed local and enjoyed our garden with all the birds and wildlife...later we plan to visit Sanibel Florida... my fav place in the USA. caught up on some great television! B watched "Shetland" "Vera" "Endeavor"...all U.K. mystery series. of them a 10!! You can find me watc Britbox or reading a "Cozy British Mys book each night to relax...I was anglophile before I met my hubs You see Arbie's designs this November at In The City~she'll be on the runway AND vending!!!

How Halters by Nikky started

In 2008 I had 2 Yorkies and a terrier mix that looked like Benji. Sofie was 3years old, Abby 4 months and Buddy 12 I wasn’t able to find a comfortable well fitting harness for them Especially my tiny puppy Abby.

My mother was a European trained Master Tailor and taught me how to sew as well as basic design and pattern making. I decided to design a pattern for a step in harness for my 3 pups in 3 different sizes. They worked great for all 3.

First my family and friends saw the halters and asked me to make them for their small dogs and it took off from there.

I ended up doing doggie Couture with more extravagant designs and dresses in my step in pattern.

I look for fabric, trims and accessories that inspire a design.

I enjoy time with my pups family and friends, reading, going to the beach and traveling when I’m not designing!

Nikky Vann has been supporting Paws In The City for over 7 years….thought it would be wonderful to sit down with a long time designer/supporter and find out more about her inner workings!!!!! Jennifer Bartok Taylor

Rickie's Designs by Erica Danow

Rickie Designs was started in 2015 by a mother and daughter team with a zest for creativity and a passion for animals. Erica and Carol's journey began by making an amazing bed modeled after the "bean bag chair" for their own fur babies. So excited about their creation, they were eager to show all their family and friends how much their fur babies loved their new snuggle bed! Who knew that posting this amazing creation on Facebook would have led to making products for other fur babies. The feedback was phenomenal and so began their ambition to start Rickie Designs.

Knowing how dogs love to nest and cuddle in the most luxurious soft fabrics, Erica got to work refining and perfecting her new Snuggle Bed. She couldn't wait to share this creation with fur babies all over ! While the original design was made from repurposed bed linens, today you will only find products from Rickie Designs made with the finest minky fabrics money can buy! In fact they are so soft, this later led to Rickie Designs making "human" products as well. They have even made a few matching sets for those extra special fur baby parents that like to match with their babies. When the first order was received for the revamped snuggle bed, the client was very specific to matching her new snuggle bed to her fur babies bedroom décor. This was an exciting challenge for Erica and she began sourcing fabrics and learning to work with clients to create the most spectacular custom creations. Erica didn't stop until the customer was completely satisfied. The color combinations are endless, so be careful because it can often tempt you into buying more than one.

As you can imagine, once the snuggle bed began its popularity streak, the clients starting asking for more. More products,

more selection, more colors, more textures, more more more. Again this excited Erica and Carol! Erica got busy designing new style beds, blankets, toys and more while Carol stayed busy on the sewing machine. The designs just keep getting better and better. Today you will see custom designs such as the very beautiful Cinderella bed adorned with lace and embroidery and can be customized with your pets name. You will also see special themed beds such as Paris, Winnie the Pooh, & Tiffany & Co.

Why Feed your Furbaby Bone Broth

Claudia Kawczynska, contributor to The Wildest an online magazine for all things animal, states,"Bone broth is all the rage these days whether you’re simmering your own at home or buying your own “brodo” online, humans can’t slurp up enough for its purported health benefits."

“It is a strong rejuvenating potion high in minerals, amino acids, glucosamine and many more valuable nutrients,” says veterinarian Dr Judy Morgan, DVM “It can be served alone or mixed with meals.” She also notes that bone broth can be used to cook grains and vegetables, or rehydrate freeze dried food " What is bone broth you ask? "Bone broth is a mineral rich stock made by boiling bones along with (dog friendly) herbs and spices for over a day. This makes it a nutrient dense, extremely easy, tasty super food for dogs." Bone Broth, as compared to beef or chicken broth, is cooked until the bones break and crumble. Beef or chicken broth is cooked a few hours and doesn't draw out the many vital, easily absorbable, hydrating nutrients that provide the necessary building blocks to boost your dog’s overall health. Bone broth is excellent for supporting bone and joint health, and supporting gut health. It is also a good means of keeping your dog hydrated which is so important.

How to make Bone Broth at Home

3 to 4 pounds (or more) raw bones with marrow

(chicken, turkey, rabbit, beef, pork or oxtail) minerals and marrow from the bones)

3 inches ginger root, sliced 2 ounces parsley, chopped 2 stalks celery, chopped ¼ cup organic raw apple cider vinegar (it helps pull the 1 tsp Turmeric 6 quarts water

Put all ingredients in a large pot, slow cooker, or instant pot. Cook on low heat for 12 hours in a pot, 24 hours in the slow cooker on low, or 3 or 4 hours in an instant pot. Allow to cool. Remove and discard bones (never feed cooked whole or splinter bones). Put broth in the refrigerator and allow the fat to rise to the top. Skim fat and discard. Notes: Raw bones are recommended. You can add in extra bones that have already been cooked, for example roasted; some of the nutrients have already been lost, but you can reuse them to extract every last bit. Store up to a year in frozen containers. I put them in the plastic ice trays and take one out at a time, warm it up and pour it over my Tai's food. Since I feed raw it is usually cold (and who likes a cold dinner?) this helps to warm it up. You can also put it over BROWN rice as an additional filler. I also like to grind the bones up until they are powder FINE and put them back in the broth.

We hope your fur babies enjoy it!

Another Homemade Dog Food

With Thanksgiving and the holidays coming around this is a good recipe to have on hand:

I have made dog food ever since my dogs were puppies 4 years now! They are very healthy and have never had any problems. You can also add it to their kibble. They love it! My dogs are large breed so they get 2 cups in the a.m. and p.m.

Ingredients

6 cups water

1 pound ground turkey

2 cups brown rice

1 teaspoon dried rosemary (twigs. If using powdered PLEASE use a lot less. Otherwise your dogs won't eat it)

½ (16 ounce) package frozen broccoli, carrots and cauliflower combination

or fresh

Directions

Place the water, ground turkey, rice, and rosemary into a large Dutch oven. Stir until the ground turkey is broken up and evenly distributed throughout the mixture; bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 20 minutes. Add the frozen vegetables, and cook for an additional 5 minutes. Remove from heat and cool. Refrigerate until using.

WARNING: Several people have added garlic and/or onions to this recipe. Both are VERY dangerous for your pup to eat. They cause horrendous gut problems that CAN lead to death.

Pet Rescue Pilots LoveIs in TheAir

Petpix World is partnering with the CFDDA to help Pet Rescue Pilots. PRP flies pets out of shelters and lands them safely in the loving arms of rescue groups, fosters, and forever families. Pet Rescue Pilots is a non profit network that helps with the immediate needs of pet relocation by air. Soaring on the wings of generosity, we coordinate with multiple local rescue organizations to transport pets from the overcrowded city and county shelters of California and land them in the loving arms of rescue groups, foster families, and forever homes across the west coast of the United States and Canada. Rescue by air means saving more pets over a greater distance in less time; whereas a drive from California to Oregon is 18 hours, a flight takes just 3. On an average ground transport, a rescue group may be able to fit up to 10 dogs but in our plane, we’ve carried as many as 40 pets to safety in one flight. On the ground, Pet Rescue Pilots is as comitted to taking small steps as we are champions for big change. PRP advocates for responsible pet guardianship and shaping long term solutions through education and legislation for managing the number of homeless pets Chief Rescue Pilot Julian Javor participates in local government and speaking engagements regarding these issues. Our efforts are fueled by donations, corporate, and private support. Only together will we reach our ultimate destination: a world where every pet lives a happy life in a safe and loving home.

Betty Boop is Home - And She is Missed

My angel is home, where she always belonged. Thank you to everyone who reached out and for your wonderful tributes to my Betty Boop aka BB. 14 years she was with us, and she blessed our lives immensely. It is because of BB, that I learned that pups COULD wear gowns! It is because of BB that I have so many friends that I would never have met, in and out of the pet community. It is because of BB that my weekends were full of excursions and events. It is because of BB that Pups on the Runway exists It is because of BB that I learned about unconditional love. We are the only pawrents that she ever knew, and she brought us such joy. I have not been on fb since she left us. She is in all my memories, and I am still raw. Her sister CiCi somehow knew when I left with her to go to the emergency vet, that she was not going to come back. I wish she could have told me, even though I still would not have been prepared. I am blessed that she left on her own terms and that I did not have to make that decision for her. She fought to stay with us, but she was tired. Please do not take it personal if I do not want to talk about it or walk away when you bring her up. Please do not take it personal if I do not reply to your text or answer your call. I am not in that place yet. I may look and act fine, but truly I am not. We are profoundly grateful for your words of comfort. Mitch, CiCi and I thank you so much for the love that you continue to send our way. Betty Boop aka BB Mitchell, my stinkabutt 1/07/2008 8/22/2022 forever loved!

Precious Marly Will be Missed

Christmas Eve, 2014 . . .

"John! I can't believe what I just read! Someone is going to dump this Pom at the shelter if no one wants him!"

A few days

later . . .

"So doctor, what's the news on this baby?" "Well, he appears to be around 10 years of age. He wasn't well cared for. He has cataracts & his back hips are bad. Seems like he had a broken leg at one time that wasn't set properly, if at all But other than that, he seems in good health." Well, that was the beginning of 8 wonderful years with the most darling little boy named Marly. He wasn't too sure about being held at first, but it didn't take him long to realize that snuggles were awesome! Kisses even better! He loved exploring & really enjoyed the car ride from PA to AZ. One day we took the pups to Oatman, a wild west town near us where Burro's roam free, and he loved it! Sadly, over time his age & physical issues started to catch up with him. When he couldn't walk anymore, or eat & drink on his own we knew it was time to let him go to the rainbow bridge. It was so hard to do, but he had a peaceful look on his face at the end, so we knew it was ok. Marly will be sorely missed but we know he is happy now, where he can run & play with his friends! The Story of G Girls

Many of you do not know the story behind G girl productions

With the 10 year anniversary upon us I felt the need with the passing of baby Nino to tell the story.

Gianna was the FACE of G Girl Productions!

Baby Nino was the REASON for G Girl Productions!

15 years ago I started out in the Furbaby World doing contests with Gianna! Sometimes we would win sometimes we would lose. As the years went on I started to get kids cars from Peoples garbage me and Javier Solis Would paint them and redo them to make them into Furbabies cars!

As time went on I added BabyNino to the cars dressed of course ! We then became unbeatable the rescues came to me and asked if we could stop competing as people Where not entering the contest as soon as they saw me with the Car and the Furbabies and the Bird!!!!

They ask me to MC the events so people would then again pay to be in the contests and rescue could make money!

After a year of emceeing I said why don’t I start a LLC and call it GGirl Productions and do events to help Rescues!

So anyone who thought this was just a bird!! We have Baby Nino to thank for the creation of G Girl Productions!

The Reason for G Girl Productions Fly free Baby Nino!

I felt with his sudden death that it was time to tell many of you who did not know how this business started the story! I also felt it would help me to come to the terms of the loss of baby Nino!

With Our Deepest Sympathies to Lynne Tonte

We want to extend our our love and sympathies to Lynne Tonte and her family on the passing of her beautiful big girl, Monkey, who left them on August 24th after a hard battle with cancer. That was preceded by the death of their chihuahua, Baby, on the 27th. Our prayers are with you.

With Our Deepest Sympathies

We want to extend our our love and sympathies to the family of Fern Weinbaum who left this earth after an incredible battle with cancer on September 18th. She was a long time beloved participant in all things pets and she will be sorely missed. Please pray for her family during this difficult time.

With Our Deepest Sympathies

The Celebrity Catwalk family lost one of it's own recently...longtime supporter Fern Weinbaum lost her FOURTH and final battle to cancer with her niece & nephew by her side during the final moments as she was surrounded by family. In memory, she lives in the hearts & minds of her 'chosen family' the dog community that she poured so much of her time & effort into for so many years.

For those that knew Fern for a while you know that she was a consummate New Yorker, who volunteered for the AIDS Foundation, The New York City Marathon, and countless other charities before she threw her efforts into the New York City Dog Community.

An original Paws In The City model from our very first show in New York City in 2013 Fern rotated all of furbabies throughout the shows, so each one could have a turn on the catwalk. She was a constant fixture at Paws In The City & all of Celebrity Catwalk's events in New York & later in Spartanburg South Carolina

Fern will continue to hit the catwalk for charity with us in spirit she will be missed & certainly remembered!

With Our Deepest Sympathies

She was a dear friend the last 4 years she bought bows and hats from me 5 years ago and continued and our friendship grew. I will greatly miss our chats in the late hours. Id give anything to hear her little new york accent right now. She was was always a positive upbeat person and inspiration to so many And what a wonderful dog momma too. Love and miss you Fern

My prayers of comfort to the family during this difficult time.

Beautiful lady prayers for her family

Fern was so special that she only saw the good atributtes in everybody ... That is being special . I know her as making me feel welcoming in all the events and always telling me stories about my londin as a puppy . I will be missing her forever

In the many years that I knew Fern, I do not ever recall a time that she was not smiling. Her spirit and her love for her furbabies, and those of her friends as well, was clearly displayed, and she had love and respect for everyone. And the times that we laughed when I wanted to bid on a pet fashion auction item, and discovered that Fern wanted it also...it was common knowledge that you did not try to outbid Fern on an special item for one of her furbabies! They were her life, her companions, and the force that kept her going, when many others would have given up. I will never forget her....she oozed furbaby love.

Hey friends

We are doing our first memorial sale of Fern Weinbaum’s doggie estate at Carl Schurz Park Conservancy Dog Howloween event!! We will have a vendor table set up and are excited to share some of her gorgeous beauties!! We will be raising money for Yorkie911 Rescue, Inc!! Please share and share away! We will be holding a raffle as well!! Come join the fun, enter the howloween costume contest, buy some goodies, enter our raffle, remember Fern and help make a diff for animals in need!! We hope to see you there!!

Healing With Animals

As an Animal Communicator, Jill Lauri translates for pet parents and their beloved companions. Like in any relationship, there can be misunderstandings. Sometimes our pets behave in ways designed to get our attention and let us know they have something to say. If we arrive at false assumptions or take things personally, we can miss the point they are trying to make.

Jill shares the wisdom pets impart about life, death, health, food, happiness, spirituality, and even advice for their pet parents. She says that while animals know what is happening around them and in our lives, they may not fully comprehend how their behavior impacts us or their desires run counter to ours. Through a three way dialogue, things can get explained and clarified so that both pet parent and pet feel understood and respected. What Jill loves most about communicating with animals is being in the presence of the intense love they feel for their humans. It is so for those in physical bodies and pets who have passed on Jill describes it as feeling like a cloud of pure light and love.

Jill organized ANIMAL ROCK this Fall to celebrate our relationships with animals. Her goal was to educate the public about a variety of animal related topics. Animal organizations and rescue groups could participate for free. Raffle prizes and other product donations will be acknowledged at the event and in promotional activities. Contact Jill@HealingWithnimals.com with inquiries. ANIMAL ROCK was on Saturday, September 24, 2022 10:00 am to 4:00 pm Beach 94/95 Streets & Shore Front Parkway, Rockaway Beach, NY 11693.

IS Your Furbaby Safe in Your Car?

Peaches @Yorkie Peachy Girl LLC has a question for you to honestly answer ……How safe will MY pup be if I am in an accident? So, you STILL think your pets are safe? Will these videos change your mind?????

My Mommy has been over joyed by the amount of caring Yorkie owners who are concerned about their animals safety while driving with them in the car. It doesn't matter if you are going to the corner grocery store or on a long road trip, your pup is PRICELESS and wants to be SAFE!!!

My Mommy thought I was safe with my padded harness with metal buckles that she bought at a local Pet Store. Several years ago, she went on a trip with Daddy and me for a Yorkie get together, two dear friends Darsey & Marisol held a safety class and demonstrated the problems with all of the so called “SAFE” car seats, crates, carriers seat belts & harnesses being sold. My Mommy could not believe her ears! She did her own research and found out that it was all disturbingly TRUE.

The SLEEPYPOD carrier is the ONLY mobile car bed carrier for small dogs or cats that is tested and CERTIFIED by http://www.centerforpetsafety.org. You can also use it in the house or on a trip as their bed!!

Sleepypod also makes a ClickIt HARNESS for larger dogs over 15 lbs. that is certified and holds the seal of approval. All of the other pretty, comfy, bling decorated car seats and harnesses DO NOT PROTECT your pup in a car crash or even an abrupt stop. If you are hearing and believing otherwise, it is simply NOT TRUE!!!!!! Also, NEVER allow your dog to be loose in the car, NEVER in the front seat, NEVER on your shoulders or on your lap, NEVER attach a tether strap to your pup’s collar to a seat belt.

My Mommy recently spoke with the founder of The Center For Pet Safety and this is what she explained about many popular carriers, crates and harnesses like, Pup Saver, All Safe Harnesses, Kurgo Sky Box, Snoozer, Pet Smart Top Paw Booster Seat , and ALL other products out there. Of course, the worst possible choice is nothing at all and we all have seen this many times on the road. The distraction of a loose animal in a car, is an accident waiting to happen. It was also explained to my Mommy that there have been accidents where the puppy is placed on the console area in a raised up seat near the driver and in an abrupt stop, the puppy went flying up and hit the driver in the head causing serious injuries to both. If you want to see the testing videos, go to centerforpetsafety.org and while you’re at it, check YOUR own car seat for a CERTIFICATION. https://www.yorkiepeachygirl.com FB/IG @yorkiepeachygirl

The Engineering App for Creating a Beautiful Picture Masterpiece

I always try to make sure that I am mindful and that I don’t have too many items from the head of the subject. Let’s establish in the photography we use subject for the people order for babies or even sometimes products who we Who are the main purpose we are taking the pictures. Another interesting fact is that I always kind of keep an eye on the shadow. Shadows are a personal choice some people like shadow some people don’t and sometimes shadows could be used for creating a city in out of the box portrait especially if you decide to maybe convert the image in black and white. Lastly but very important as well is that when you take pictures or videos we always encourage take a few try to look at the back of your phone or a camera and then simply to try to change your own angle. Keep in mind that typically your fur babies as a very short span attention and this is the reason why you may decide to use toys treat or noises. In here actually I like to share with you one very helpful tool for many years for my clients by the way that’s what I’m known for always liked my noises and I just created a special collection with three noises or some of them are actually words combination and to be honest with you I use them on a daily basis that they are really very effective so if you decide please check our website and that you may have really enjoyed the find them very helpful. And then the noises practically all the toys they are the same way I like when we use them for us for the two legs as humans is that sometimes it works sometimes they don’t work sometimes I need to try them out a few months later date was better keep this in mind.

So after you take the pictures I’m calling you to take a look at your phone and select your good ones it’s not about the quantity of the photos it’s more about the quality and the drive to isolate the ones you like maybe consider to do a little bit of

everything because you tried to cut consistency in your pictures and here we go sogood luck with your pictures and I cannot wait to see them friends you’ve got this Photography it’s a passion but I’m also true believer that as long as you put the time and effort in you try you always going to continue learning and improving your picture like myself believe me I learn every single day and all the master Photographer they feel the same way so don’t be hesitated and just continue pressing the button on your phone and I know that you don’t just take a picture you create a memory you’re going to cherish forever.

What’s the Difference Between a Therapy and a Service Dog?

There are three types of certified dogs that serve their owners in official capacity. Let’s explore them

ESA or Emotional Support Animal. Emotional support animals help individuals with emotional disabilities such as anxiety or depression by providing comfort and support. Any animal can be an emotional support animal. Federal law does not require these animals to have any specific training and you do not have to be physically disabled to have an emotional support animal. Having • Anxiety• Depression• Bipolar/mood disorders• Panic attacks• Stress• PTSD• Personality disorders• Fear/phobias are all reasons to have an emotional support animal. In order to prove that an animal is an emotional support animal, you may be asked to provide documentation from a licensed professional (doctor, psychiatrist, or other mental health professional) stating that the animal is an essential part of treatment for a disability. A landlord or business may ask you to provide a doctor’s note or they could deny you and your emotional support animal. Regardless of whether you are asked to show a doctor’s letter, it is very helpful to have one on file just in case.

Registration for the animal costs around $90 and getting a Doctor’s approval letter in order to register costs between $180 and $200.Next the Therapy dog. A Therapy dog has to be able to tolerate all people. They have to be very socialized and loving of adults and children. There needs to be an ability to cheer people up with their loving ways but still playful with children. It requires a very patient pup as well. A Therapy dog goes thru a training period and then is tested in many different circumstances and situations. When they pass their test they are certified. They go into hospitals to cheer sick folks up. They go into nursing homes and make people happy. Often the folks they visit want to cuddle and hold them. It is up to their handler (who in this case is healthy person)

What’s the Difference Between a Therapy and a Service Dog?

to allow or disallow this. The handler is responsible first of all to the pup and must consider their feelings above any others. They also go to special occasions such as fairs or dog events. In the case of Tai, the therapy pomeranian, he worked in the Denver International Airport as part of their CATS (Canine Airport Therapy Squad) program. He worked 2 days a week for 2 hours at a time running around cheering up waiting passengers from 2 years to 90 years old passengers. He attended lots of special occasion lunches on the lawn between the main terminal and their hotel wooing everyone that came. He even got his picture on the side of their shuttle busses! Tai was trained by the Alliance of Therapy Dogs.

Then there is the Service Dog There are 8 different types of Service Dogs: Autism Service Dogs, Hearing Dogs, Diabetic Alert Dogs, Seizure Response Dogs, Guide Dogs, Allergy Detection Dogs, Mobility Assistance Dogs, and PTSD Service Dogs. Each requires a different type of training and skill set. Service dogs are generally watched as puppies and picked for their abilities and intelligence they have even from 2 months of age. In general, it takes about two years for the owners to train their service dog give or take, depending on his/her ability to learn quickly. The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) states that service dogs are allowed to accompany disabled owners in almost all public places such as restaurants and airplanes. However, some employees in these places require you to provide proof, in particular, a ‘SERVICE DOG CERTIFICATION’. To be professionally trained can cost between $5,000 $10,000.

Welcome Tiamo Tayo!

In August we were seriously considering getting a third pup. We currently have 2 girls and thought it would be nice to have a boy. In the beginning of our search we were looking for a puppy. None of our near by rescues had any puppies. We currently have a Maltese and a Morkie. We wanted to stay with the small, no shedding breeds. My inquires lead me to a friend who had a 1.5 yr old Maltese that she was selling.

I started seriously considering this option. He would be potty trained and hopefully personality be defined. It was important that he would be able to blend with the girls and the girls with him. Seeing that he came from a family with several dogs of both sexes this should not be an issue.

This was the way to go for our family I contacted my friend that we are interested and she started to make the plans a reality. Tiamo is coming to us from the east coast so we had to figure out how to get him to us. We decided to use a dog Nanny. After a very long day on airplanes and airports I was finally able to meet, face to face, Tiamo and I was instantly in love. He is absolutely perfect. We are in love and could not be happier.

Atenas Judit - English

Atenas Judit, is my first dog. I didn’t imagine that it was so nice to live with her. She was about 30 days old when I saw her in the hall of the school where I work. I immediately fell in love with her beautiful eyes. As we exchanged glances I called her, without thinking, Athena because I really like Greek history. I immediately called my husband to tell him and he asked if the dog could be ours. We had to wait a few days. On Saturday of that same week I contacted Camila to find out if Athena was still nursing. Luckily she told me no. We went to look for her and on the way we stopped by a vet to have her checked out. She was doing very well and was very generous in allowing a rescued kitten to be placed on her chest to feel her warmth and heartbeat. The days were cold so that same Sunday I made her a little outfit, then another one, and every two weeks I renewed the wardrobe because she was growing up. She played between the fabrics while I sewed since we were together all the time and as much as possible in my arms. Including errands Atenas was in the carrier bag until the vaccines were complete As soon as she got home we introduced her to Abi, from then on her friend (the dog across the street). The dogs come to the workshop to take measurements for their clothes and always play with my beautiful Atenas. The groomer once told me to find a sister for her because she is very demanding. We took care of the matter and finally a rescue dog arrived, Filípida Berta. She also bore a Greek and a Hebrew name. The relationship

wasn’t good, the two already had their customs to the point that we had to take the black girl to another house although we always saw her. Then a four legged baby came to the house, Micenas Ester. Over time, she accepted it and they played, ran and shared toys. However, Atenas continued to be the owner of my arms even in times of work. She continues in the same way despite being 5 years old and weighting 8 kilos, asking for my arms, with her toys or plastic bottles she finds. It fascinates her that they run her with things in her mouth and that she tries to get them out. She doesn’t like go running to catch any toy. She likes to grab anything and make me run! Atenas is so friendly, she greets people when they arrive at home, on the sidewalks and in the same way she is jealous. In short, a very beautiful being, with grace, tenderness, generous. A queen.

Atenas Judit - Spanish

by Rosana Farina Milanich

A Magical City Far Away - English

My dear friends, I want to share with you a very distant and magical place in Argentina, my country, where I lived all my childhood and it is the city of Puerto Madryn located on the coast of northern Patagonia. The city was founded on July 28, 1865, the day on which the 150 Welshmen arrived on these shores aboard the Mimosa ship. They named this natural harbor Puerto Madryn in homage to Loves Jones Parry, who was Baron of Madryn in the country of Wales. Its sandy beaches and its coastal promenade overlook the bay of Golfo Nuevo, which is one of the "wombs of the world" since the southern right whales reproduce from May. to Dec. On the other side of the bay, the rocky Valdés Peninsula is home to penguins, elephant seals, killer whales, guanacos, and gray foxes, among other typical specimens of the Patagonian fauna. An hour from Madryn is the town of Gaiman, a Welsh colony that was visited by Lady Di, where Welsh customs continue and where you can enjoy a typical Welsh tea. In the city of Trelew, half an hour from Puerto Madryn, is the Egidio Feruglio Paleontological Museum (MEF), which is one of the most important scientific institutions in Argentina, and an undisputed international benchmark in paleontology, both for its discoveries and research and for its samples presented. In it we can see samples of dinosaurs found in the Patagonian terrain To finish I would like to tell you that the French pilot and writer Antoine de Saint Exupery was in Patagonia where he wrote the legendary book "The Little Prince" which is a narrative that deals with the story of a little prince who leaves his asteroid on a journey through the universe, in which he discovers the strange way adults see life and understand the value of love and friendship.
