NEW!

Dear Reader, As I sit here at my desk typing this introduction, I really do feel the need to pinch myself. If anyone had told me that in 2026 I’d be writing the Editor’s note for the fifth issue of a glossy miniatures magazine, I would have belly laughed and shook my Bea attempting (& failing) head. Yet here I am, editor’s hat cocked at to stay out the sun and a jaunty angle, virtual pen poised to keep cool! introduce our latest edition of the ground-breaking PETITE PROPERTIES Magazine... Once again, Issue 5 is packed to the rafters with stunning, quality content. Not in this publication are the smaller scales a token ‘amuse-bouche’... between this magazine’s pages, they are proudly the whole buffet; taking centre stage – exactly where they deserve to be! But before I fall off this precarious soap box, I just want to highlight some of the delights contained in this latest edition... although with 100 pages packed with teeny tiny eye candy it’s almost impossible to know where to begin. Issue 5 features not only one of the founding bastions of quarter scale and veritable smaller scale royalty; Suzanne Larson-Tamburo (page 11), but also new emerging artisans like Ben C too (page 7). We have combined in depth explorations into diorama construction with cathartic advise from our resident mental health guru; Iona Barker (page 80). Personally, I just love the fact that Shane Downes’ (page 23) stunning medieval creations rub shoulders with Liz Sewell’s stunningly diverse quarter scale collection (page 33). Then in an active refusal to ‘keep things pink’, we even delve into the gnarly topic of 3D printing too – is it a limitless new boost for our smaller scale world or a technological scourge which should be shunned?... Dramatically phrased I know, but this topic does seem to divide many stoic miniaturists around the globe. Rest assured this issue isn’t all weighty debates, as Helen Sullivan shares what it feels like to dive in at the deep end and enter the prestigious PIMA Awards (page 76). Alongside new introductions, there are also a couple of poignant good byes too... But before I reach for the tissues, why not go grab yourself a cuppa, put your phone on silent and head to your comfiest chair. Issue 5 is finally here and I hope you enjoy every single page. Happy Mini-ing!
