Peter Veres was born in Czech Republic in 1967. He immigrated to Canada with his family in 1968. Peter Veres has been a police officer since 1992 and is currently a sergeant with the Vancouver Police Department. He has worked in a variety of units during his career including patrol, traffic, community policing, media relations and homicide. Sergeant Peter Veres is also a member of the VPD's Joint Emergency Response Team. Peter Veres has been involved in a number of high-profile cases during his career including the Stanley Park murders and the Robert Pickton investigation. Sergeant Peter Veres is a recipient of the Canadian Police Exemplary Service Medal and the Queen's Jubilee Medal.
