Today is Tuesday. A beautiful, sunny day
I was on my way to my advisory with excitement.
My advisor is Brenda Godwin, the nicest teacher on campus. She makes our advisory a warm "family" under her care.
(oops! She happened to close her eyes.)
She tries to help me with everything she can. In the summers when I did not have a place to put my luggage, she stored my possessions in her house. Every time I did not have a place to stay before my flight back to China, she cleaned a room in her house for me. Every month, she gives us a hearty advisory dinner at her house with delicious grilled steaks, twice baked potatoes and desserts. Every term, if we make Honor Roll, she takes us to eat at the Outback or an Asian restaurant. She cares about all of us everyday. I love Brenda, a great, caring woman who adopted eight children, who also has four dogs and three cats. Sydney, one of Brenda's dogs, is part of our "family." Sydney is a perfect, sweet golden retriever. She goes almost every place that Brenda goes and always sits and lounges around waiting for us to pet her. I'm a person who is afraid of most dogs, but I love Sydney.
There are six people in our advisory: Carolyn Gronowski, Hunter Luhmann, Tshiefu Ngalakulondi, Cuong Nguyen, Connor Tedesco and me. We are all from different parts of the world which makes our advisory a global family. When we are having advisory dinner, everyone is telling stories and talking about fun things in their own countries. We have learned a lot from different people and cultures. We also gossip about lots of things. Laughter and happiness fills the whole house and touches all of us. This is why I love Brenda's advisory: so much fun and warmth.
