HOW TO… SHARE A CONTROLLER

03

BEGIN YOUR BROADCAST

You can start streaming right away, but you’ll want to do a few things first. If you wish to chat to your viewers or just want better communication turn the Microphone setting to ‘On’. You’ll also want to change the name of your broadcast so it’s easier for people to find it. Now select ‘Start Broadcast’. You’ll also find a handy link to your Mixer channel should you want to share it with anyone.

04

SHARE CONTROLLER

Once you’ve started your broadcast, you have the option to share your controller at any time during it. To enable this, change the ‘Share Your Controller’ setting to ‘On’. This will allow any of the viewers on your stream to take control of the game at any time. Only yourself and one other person can use the controller. Depending on your connection the Mixer player may experience a certain amount of lag.

REVERSE IT…

If you’re the one that wants to do the controlling then you’ll need to sign up to a Mixer account. Simply open up the Mixer app on your Xbox One. You should see an option in the top right hand corner that asked you to sign up (if you’ve already signed up you’ll see your Gamertag here). Selecting this with the Menu button will bring up two options. The first is to create a new Mixer account using your Xbox details, the other is to link an existing one.

05

SIT BACK, RELAX

With the Mixer viewer now in control of your game you can sit back and watch them complete whatever problem you were facing. Be sure to keep an eye on what they’re doing though, you don’t want them deleting any of your valuable items, do you? Only the most rotten of rascals would ever even attempt such a thing, but luckily you’re still in control of the game and can cancel the sharing option whenever you like.

H O W T O . . .

SHARE A MIXER

BUY A MIXER

Firstly, if you don’t already have one, you’ll need to buy a mixer. You should be able to find one at your local appliance store. You’ll find it in the mixer section. PHONE A FRIEND

Call up your friend and find out if they have a mixer. If they do, hang up and then call another friend until you find one that doesn’t have a mixer. This is very important.

06

END CONTROLLER SHARE

After you’ve had your fun or the viewer has kindly helped you pass whatever obstacle was in your way, you can either end or pause the broadcast or turn the share controller option off and continue playing. Jump back into the ‘Broadcast’ menu, select ‘Stop Broadcast’ or to stop controller sharing switch the ‘Share Your Controller’ option to ‘Off’. You can always enable this option again during the same stream.

SHARE THE MIXER

Your friend should now be absolutely thrilled to know that they’re going to borrow your mixer. Travel to your friend’s house and deliver it to them. RETRIEVE MIXER

Two weeks should be more than enough time for your friend to get the most out of your mixer, if not shame on them. Either way you should collect it from them.
