SAHOTA’S STORY

P E T-X i C A S E S T U DY Sahota Sagar, from Coventry, had a temporary job in ­warehousing before becoming unemployed in May 2021. He was then referred to PET-Xi by the National Careers Service to both support him to upskill and find further work.

Support provided by PET-Xi Sahota took part in PET-Xi’s Level 2 Customer Service and Team ­Leading courses where he was able to gain an understanding about managing customer relationships and responding to complaints, as well as ­leadership responsibilities and how to manage a team. He also received one-to-one support from Harry Craker, a Recruitment and Progressions Co-ordinator at PET-Xi. Harry said: “Sahota did excellently on both of the courses he took part in. He engaged really well and clearly listened to the kinds of roles he could apply his new skills to. “When Sahota originally contacted us he wasn’t sure what industry he wanted to work in, so we also provided him with some one-toone support to explore suitable career paths he could think about. “I also supplied him with a list of local employers who had v ­ acancies that he may be interested in applying for.”

Outcomes Sahota has now successfully secured a position with DHL Coventry.
