PET-Xi Training Skills Support for the Workforce (SSW) Skills Support for the Workforce (SSW) is a programme developed to upskill employees within small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Greater Birmingham and Solihull area. It provides recognised, accredited qualifications and bespoke training courses to enhance your employees’ skills, increase the competitiveness and boost the local economy. PET-Xi Training is part of Serco’s network of expert organisations chosen to deliver the SSW programme. SSW is co-financed by the European Social fund and the Education and Skills Funding Agency. PN Daly Ltd is a supplier of gas, water, electricity and telecommunication network design, construction, connection, repair, maintenance and support services. Catering for two main markets, namely the Construction Sector and the Statutory Undertakers Sector (Gas, Water and Electrical undertakers). PET-Xi approached PN Daly regarding fully funded training programmes for staff. As PN Daly deal with tens of thousands of customers each year, they thought the Level 2 Customer Service was an ideal opportunity to upskill their existing staff and improve service for their clients. The Level 2 Team Leading course was also b eneficial to providing several supervisors the necessary skills to deal with day to day supervision. Matthew Collins, Contracts Manager “So far 12 members of staff have benefitted from the SSW provision. These staff feel more valued as we have invested in them, therefore we have seen productivity and customer interaction become better, using tools and techniques
learnt on these courses have gave the staff more experiences. Supervisors are more aware of different techniques when dealing with staff members” “The provision was very flexible with us and our business needs. We arranged suitable dates and times that would not impact our day to day business significantly, open to change and alterations to the plan if required. Based on our experiences with PET-Xi, we would be very open to put more staff through relevant courses. As mentioned, these courses have positively impacted our productivity and customer service.”
