P E T-X i C A S E S T U DY Loreta Petrovaite, aged 24, had been out of work for a while after raising her young son, and wanted to learn more skills to boost her chances of finding a job. Although she was unsure as to what she wanted to do in her career, Loreta knew she had to earn more qualifications to give her as many options as possible. She came across PET-Xi while looking for training providers online, and decided to sign up to its Level 2 Team Leading course to learn the basics of management skills.
Support provided by PET-Xi Loreta started her course in November 2020, and immediately settled into PET-Xi’s virtual learning environment. She passed the course easily, and her mentor at PET-Xi, Ellie Wickett, felt Loreta would benefit from taking more courses as she felt she had the aptitude for them. On Ellie’s advice, Loreta signed up to PET-Xi’s Level 2 Customer Service course, its Level 2 ITQ course, and its Level 2 Health and Social Care course. After just six weeks, Loreta passed all of her courses and had made her CV look a lot more impressive. Ellie said: “Loreta was so enthusiastic during her time with us. She threw herself into every course she took and got on well with her trainers and her classmates. “I’m glad she decided to take more courses after she passed Team Leading – I felt she was more than capable of easily building up her qualifications which will give her a strong base to apply for jobs. “She is a very driven woman and I’m confident she will achieve w hatever she decides to do in the future.”

Outcomes Following her time with PET-Xi, Loreta decided to increase her k nowledge further by enrolling on a Maths and a Business & A dministration course with Skills Training UK in Walsall.

“I was in a tricky position – I was a full-time mum from a young age, which meant I missed out on some of the education I probably needed. “I’m happy I chose PET-Xi – they gave me a wide choice of courses and it was great that I could complete them so quickly. “They really gave me the confidence to believe in myself. Before I started, I honestly felt like I wasn’t capable of getting certain jobs. “But now, I think I’ll be able to get a job with good pay so I can better support my son. I’m very grateful to PET-Xi for what they’ve done for me and I’ve already recommended them to my friends.” Loreta Petrovaite Together we work as one Loreta’s training was part of the TCHC My Futures programme, which gives young people aged between 16 and 24 the chance to access full Level 2 Qualifications in IT, Customer Service, Health and Social Care, Team Leading, Employability and Maths and English support, delivered remotely whilst still maintaining PET-Xi’s unique, engaging and energetic dynamic.
