A MESSAGE FROM THE EDITORS Hey guys! It’s Tiffany again and this month of November was very exciting from the opportunity to write letters to our veterans to the designs for our t-shirts and officer crewnecks this year! Can’t wait to see what December brings.
Hi its Ashley! We have a lot of fun activities planned for December and we hope to be able to provide you guys with festive volunteer events!

WRITING LETTERS TO VETERANS The monthly meeting of November brought the Plano East Key Clubbers together for an informational shares and also a wonderful service activity. This service activity was suggested by our lovely officers and allowed our members to tap into their creative side. The students were writing and drawing letters for veterans since Veterans Day was just around the corner (November 11th). We advised our Key Clubbers to follow guidelines such as an opening of “Dear Hero” or “Dear Brave One,” writing a little note expressing gratitude for the veterans’ service, sharing hobbies, and drawing small illustrations. These guidelines were followed promptly in order to aid in the screening process.

This service activity was very important because America is standing because of the sacrifices our people make. Having our members show their gratitude and encouragement for the recipients to be mentally uplifted teaches appreciation on so many levels and Plano East Key Club is proud to say that our contributions have impacted at least some people in need. The officers hope to hold service activities of this kind to give back to our world.

Operation Gratitude is the organization behind many letters that are sent to veterans. Plano East Key Club would like to thank Operation Gratitude for giving many people and even school clubs the opportunity to thank all parts of the social services of the United States: deployed troops, veterans, new recruits, and first responders. Plano East Key Club would also like to encourage members to set up an event for writing letters to any part of America’s social services in the future when they are in different service clubs. We hope to make this volunteering activity an annual event for our members to dedicate time for their freedom and protection in the United States of America.

Meetings are typically held in B1-274 or B1-262 every first Friday of the month afterschool starting at 4:20pm.
If I miss a meeting, are there makeup? ◦

Up to 5 hours can be used from the summer for your fall semester PVC.
When and where are the meetings held? ◦

December 13, 2019
Do summer hours count on PVCs? ◦
•
Fifteen hours are due on December 13, 2019. Each member is required to attend three out of the four service projects after the meetings.
When are PVCs due? ◦

Any of the officers will take them or Mrs. Tomoaki can in B1-262.
There are makeup meetings every Tuesday after the actual meeting in the morning. The meeting starts at 8:15 AM.
