Letter From the Editors Hey members! Dhuha and Ama here again with our sixth issue! We missed you guys after taking a short hiatus these past few months! However, we are back with new information, new opportunities, and a new year! We hope you are all staying healthy and enjoying the beautiful weather. Thank you members for reading our sixth issue, we worked hard and are glad you're finally able to read it! Keep on working hard and serving our community!

Out with the Old, In with the New! With the new year, comes new year's resolutions. Our Key Club officer team hopes that this year our club will become more efficient, so that we as officers are better able to help our members, and our members are better equipped to serve our community. We hope that because our membership is at its peak, our service in the community will simultaneously peak!

As first semester closed and PVCs were submitted, there was a disappointing amount of members that had not submitted any, if not 12, hours. As an officer team, we were greatly disappointed in the lack of engagement among our members. Therefore, with the new semester, we are implementing improvements to Key Club to make serving the community easier and more fun!

Firstly, regarding these new changes, we will be returning to hard copy PVCs. We have realized that virtual PVC forms are demotivating and difficult to access. Therefore, hard copy PVCs will be used by members to record hours and attendance at meetings with a simple signature from an officer or supervisor. Additionally, members are required to attend 3 out of 4 meetings and 1 required service event led by Key Club per semester.

These events are not those that are held after meetings, and they will be announced via social media so be sure to be active and stay updated!

Ultimately, we urge our members to try and take a more active role in the community this semester, so that we can end off this school year strong!

Mendenhall Fun

This past week, Key clubbers went to volunteer at Mendenhall elementary to decorate the fence. We had over 5 days of service with lots of hours and volunteers! The mendenhall fence was being decorated for an upcoming event and had individual caps placed on the fences to create letters. We love to be dedicated to each service project available and that is what Key clubbers were able to do. It is important to us to be able to complete service projects regularly to help our community so Key Club will be trying to get more people involved in these kinds of activities. Sinc covid is still present, it was a good idea to have a service project that took place outside as it allowed everyone that was worried about precautions to be able to separate themselves outside. This was one of the first ongoing projects for the key club and everyone was able to enjoy being able to go for a little bit of time and still contribute as they could. The purpose of Key club relies on activities that are involving and collaborative, which this was. Everyone’s hard work, together, made an amazing service project piece that will continue to be a fun memory for all!
