An SP can be defined in a simple way as: The actions we take to achieve the purposes of our organization in the future.
In my professional experience over the years, I have collaborated in the creation of strategic plans either for countries, cities, municipal and state governments, as well as economic development organizations, clusters, university faculties, social organizations and, of course, companies.
As you can see, the application of an SP Is very broad and, contrary to what many people think, Strategic Planning is more essential in small organizations because they have fewer resources and must manage them more effectively.
Now we are going to answer the question that we posed from the title of this article.
Why are we going to make a Strategic Plan? I list here 12 reasons and good luck with your SP.
1
To know where we are and where we should be.
2
To have a diagnosis of the organization.
3
To provide direction to the organization.
4
To offer clarity on the objectives we want to achieve.
5
To have a future horizon for three to five years.
6
To minimize uncertainty.
7
To facilitate finance work on resource allocation.
8
To compete in a different way.
9
To be able to control the goals and their results.
10
To make changes and adjust them to the reality of the organization based on a Strategic Plan.
11
To identify areas for innovationand development opportunities.
12
To add value to thecompany, employees and customers.
