PERMAI CMC YOUTH CAMP

"How Wonderful, How Beautiful" ARRANGED BY: JIA HUI TRANSLATED BY: PHOEBE CHEAH

AFTER FIVE YEARS PERMAI CMC YOUTH HAS ONCE AGAIN HELD A YOUTH CAMP to allow young people experience group life and build a closer relationship with God. Thanks be unto the Lord, after months of preparation, the youth camp, themed "Unity in Christ", was finally held in Malacca from 16th to 18th of September 2022 with a total of 40 attendees.

Special thanks to the organising committee and the mentors for their preparation, and through the speaker’s message as well as a series of group activities, the young people have definitely benefited from this camp.

YEE HERN

Youth camp 2022 has ended!

During these three days and two nights, we made new friends and strengthened our relationships among one another. The speaker’s sharing was also very exciting. He called us to pursue wisdom and knowledge with a longing heart. With more knowledge, we are better enlightened and fear diminishes. In this camp, we learned to be more independent, learned about the importance of unity and how to be part of a community. We stayed in a dormitory surrounded by forests. Although the dormitories were simple, the fresh air and its surroundings were comparable to luxurious accommodation, and it also gave us the opportunity to get close to nature. Overall, it was a very memorable event.

MOSES

I loved the youth camp so much. It taught me many things about life and I enjoyed spending quality time with my friends. Those mini games were the best.

Overall, I loved it so much.

NG JING XI

To me, the camp was very good, as the activities were very interesting and loaded with fun. My suggestion for future camp is that the evening activities shall end earlier. Most of us did not get enough sleep since the evening activities ended quite late. Overall, it’s a very good camp.

In my opinion, I think that the Permai CMC Youth Camp in 2022 had helped me socialise with people and be a more independent person. I “highly”recommend this place named “Bukit Hantu”.

I AM GLAD TO BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS YOUTH CAMP. KOH WEI JING

I am especially thankful to the organising committee for the programmes and events prepared for us. I also thank the pastor for his sincere sharing. I am very happy to be able to have fun and work together with everyone this time.

From being unfamiliar in the beginning, to being friendly towards each other. I could feel the enthusiasm and sense of humour of brothers and sisters. Although it was only three days, it was filled with many memories. I hope to be involved in the preparation and NOMADIC | 24 planning of the next camp.

BRANDON NGU

I think that this year's Permai CMC youth camp was really fun and interesting. I like the station games the best. It was fun and exciting. The food was delicious. I even got to try out some foods that I had never had before. I wish the camp could have lasted a bit longer.

PRESTON

The camp was interesting and lively, and what the pastor shared was in accordance with God's heart. I also enjoyed the time of praise and worship in which I felt the love and mercy of Jesus Christ. When I think about us and God as one family, and that God will take care of us, I feel comforted.

TANG EEJOYCE

I have benefited a lot from being able to participate in this youth camp. Special thanks to the three teachers for their leadership, and the planning of the committee members.

Thanks to the pastor for teaching me the importance of truth and knowledge. I enjoyed being able to hang out with everyone this time, meeting new people and getting to know everyone better. I found that everyone was very friendly and took good care of me (thanks to the hilarious ones. Without you, the atmosphere would have been quiet). Finally, I would like to thank my group leader and team members. I am grateful to be in the same group with them (please bear with my shortcomings).

Although the few days of camp were short, all the memories are wonderful and I will always cherish them (there are still many things I could write but I can't finish...). If there are similar camps in the future, I will consider participating.

YEE CHIEN

ON THE 16TH OF SEPTEMBER I had the privilege of joining the church's youth camp. During these three days and two nights, I met many new friends, learned about God's wonderful works, and had many deep thoughts and feelings. During this camp, I had to do my own dishes (although only once). In the camp, not only could I learn the truth, but I could also participate in the discussion and study the truth of the Bible in small groups, which was a very rare opportunity. While playing games, I needed to unite with the team members and help each other in order to win. In addition, each team had a chance to lead the whole camp in worship. The organising committee temporarily confiscated our mobile phones when we arrived at the camp so that we could get to know each other more sincerely without the phones. The pastor's way of preaching was also very special and I benefited a lot from it. Thanks to all the members of the organising committee who had prepared for this camp. It was because of all of you, I got to have this wonderful and unforgettable memory!
