MOOTING

CULSMooting

CULS Mooting is dedicated to promoting the passion for mooting and advocacy among both law and non-law students at Cambridge University

CULS Mooting occupies a central role in Cambridge’s illustrious mooting history We are host to various mooting competitions such as the De Smith Moot and the Fledglings Moot organised by Blackstone and Quadrant Chambers respectively, as well as the Brick Court Moot amongst others.

Further afield, our mooters have fared well against other universities across the UK and the world, and have had the opportunity to be judged by distinguished barristers and judges

Our mooters will gain the opportunity to learn from, be adjudicated by and work closely alongside notable members of the

Bar. CULS Mooting provides a rare opportunity for students to learn from and contribute to advocacy at Cambridge

Here is a list of moots that CULS are organising in 2019:

Fledglings Cuppers

De Smith

Brick Court

20 Essex Court Speed Moot

Pump Court Tax Chambers Speed Moot

XXIV Old Buildings Speed Moot

Keating Chambers Arbitration Moot

Our Facebook page and website will be updated as more moots are confirmed

FOREIGN EXCHANGE

ForeignExchange Programme

The Cambridge University Law Society has run various exchange partnerships with leading universities worldwide for many years, including visits to Tel Aviv, Paris, Milan, Madrid and Leiden

This year, the CULS Foreign Exchange hopes to continue their long standing relationship with the Autonomous University of Madrid.

We are also exploring possible new partnerships with the Université de Poitiers and the University of Malta.

This exchange is a brilliant opportunity to meet students from around the world, find out what life is like in a university abroad and even to help you decide whether an Erasmus year might be for you

The trip abroad will take place in early December 2019, and the Cambridge

students will be welcoming the foreign students in March

During the exchange visits, many engaging activities are on offer, including social events, lectures and sightseeing (including court visits)!

This exchange programme would not be possible without the generous support of our sponsor, DLA Piper.

Applications for this year ' s exchanges will open in early Michaelmas term.

More information can be found on the Cambridge University Law Society Facebook page and website.

For any enquiries about the exchange programme, please feel free to email at: foreignaffairs@culs.org.uk
