Dear Readers,

This publication aims at creating an archive and mapping the participant’s experiences of online choreographic workshop for women “Territories of intimacy”.

The meetings with a group of Georgian (not only) participants were a process which lasted for almost two months.

During that time, we looked together at the modes of appropriation and deconstruction of female victim

representations and emancipatory dimension of the witch figure in a practical and theoretical context.

We discovered together female fears, joy and power through our intimate storytelling, dancing, writing and drawing.

We worked bodily with a victim figure from Solo of

the Chosen (“Rite of Spring”), shaking practices, somatic

self-touch practices, task-orientated dance improvisations.

We read texts by Mona Chollet, Silvia Federici, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Natalie Angier, Tithi Bhattacharya

and reflecting on them. So here it is, our post-workshop

publication. I believe that every archive contains a political

potential. A potential which is not being taken into action yet.

A potential which gives us hope for change. A potential which makes us foresee a better future.

Intencją poniższej publikacji było stworzenie archiwum oraz zmapowanie doświadczeń uczestniczek choreograficznego warsztatu dla kobiet

„Terytoria intymne”. Spotkania z grupą gruzińskich kobiet były dwumiesięcznym procesem, który odbywał się

w przestrzeni online. W tym czasie przyglądałyśmy się

wspólnie sposobom zawłaszczania i dekonstrukcji figury

ofiary oraz emancypacyjnym wymiarom figury czarownicy w praktycznym i teoretycznym kontekście.

Wspólnie odkrywałyśmy nasze lęki, radości

i moc poprzez opowiadanie intymnych historii, tańczenie,

pisanie, rysowanie. Pracowałyśmy cieleśnie z figurą ofiary z Solo Wybranej („Święto Wiosny”), praktykami drżenia i trzęsienia się, somatycznymi praktykami autodotyku,

improwizacją w tańcu opartą na zadaniach. Czytałyśmy i dyskutowałyśmy teksty Mony Chollet, Silvii Federici, Alexandrii Ocasio - Cortez, Natalie Angier,

In this chaos, we should find the power to reconnect to our most intimate territory to secure our collective survival.

From Kangaroo to Swan: The way of evolution

When I was little, I was told I was a little girl. And these were more than words, it was a kind of verdict. Verdict to be an instrument for something or someone. Not because they wanted to hurt me, not because they wanted to abuse me, not because they wanted to make me vulnerable, just because they had such schemata, such knowledge, experience, sentences in their head.

Trying to draw a picture of a kangaroo and then make a swan out of it. Here we are faced with our schemata. I was trying so hard to overcome them and I am fighting to draw my swan every fu***g day! Even though I know rationally how it works, who I am, whom they expected me to be, I am living in a particular dimension with determined knowledge and defined figures.

And still, I believe my kangaroo will be more swan-ish tomorrow and, even if I unintentionally give my deconstructed, but still kangaroo, to the future generation, at least they will have wings and more space to draw up their own swans. p.s.

Renata Piotrowska-Auffret is a choreographer and an artist; in her work, she uses the tools of experimental dance, performative arts, dramaturgy and theatre. She is interested in the perversity of the relations between the historical and contemporary body politics, between public and private, as well as between text and movement. Since 2014 she has started a series of Private Pieces – performances bringing into play female body politics.

She was a priority artist in the frame of Aerowaves Twenty17 and Aerowaves Twenty19.

რენატა პიოტროვსკა-ოფრეტი არის ხელოვანი და ქორეოგრაფი. თავის ნამუშევრებში ის იყენებს ექსპერიმენტული ცეკვის, საშემსრულებლო ხელოვნების, დრამატურგიის და თეატრის ელემენტებს. იგი დაინტერესებულია იმ დამახინჯებული ურთიერთობებით, რაც ისტორიულ და თანამედროვე სხეულის პოლიტიკას, საჯაროსა და პირადს, ტექსტსა და მოძრაობას შორის არსებობს. 2014 წლიდან ის მუშაობს პროექტზე “პირადი პიესები” – პერფორმანსებზე ქალის სხეულის პოლიტიკის შესახებ. რენატა იყო ერთ-ერთი წამყვანი ხელოვანი პლატფორმაზე Aerowaves 2017 და 2019 წლებში.

Koré Halfway is a writer, a sister and a friend, living halfway through projects and destinations. She accepts that layers have more defining power than labels. She likes pomegranates, the changing colours of the sea and rainy days.

She dances to connect to herself and others, and writes to give a shape to the mess she lives in.

Natia Kasradze is a Georgian journalist based in Germany.

She is a traveler, seeker, explorer of self and nature.

At the moment, she is enjoying being the mother of a baby girl.

Salome Jishkariani is a cultural manager and photographer.

Her main idea of exploration is “transition space”, time and movement – – within their larger and numerous essences. She seeks to experiment, manipulate and capture the elusive moments.

Nutsa (Nino) Iashvili is a Georgian psychologist, artist and the Artistic Director of „Margo Korableva Performance Theatre“. She revealed herself for the first time as a performer in the Lava-Dansprodukion’s project “Waiting In The Margins” in 2014. In 2016, she created the concept of inclusive performance for people with special needs – FriendArt. She has taken part in various projects, such as: “Inclusion in art: the German Experience 2016” (Germany), “Performance Days Tbilisi 2019”, the live exhibition “Enclosed Garden”, organized by the collective HEROINES (2019), the HEFT exhibition and book presentation “Tbilisi – Perspektiven auf eine Stadt im Wandel” (Germany), etc.

Tatia Razmadze is a Gestalt Therapist practitioner and co-founder of NGO “Association for Well-being of Society”. She was involved in different projects empowering women and children, such as “Parenting as a Profession”, “Young Ladies for a Better Future”, “Women’s Psycho-social Support”, etc. As a lecturer, trainer, and participant, she is also actively involved in formal and non-formal education. Tatia is interested in art and performance as an instrument of the therapeutic process and believes that existence is the most authentic way of performing and creating. თათია რაზმაძე არის პრაქტიკოსი გეშტალტ-თერაპევტი თათია
