In deep sciencey The departure has already represented a declaration of future intent which raises the ambitions of an entire sector. With the first appointment organized in the spaces of the Fiera di Piacenza, the Geofluid Academy project, born from the collaboration between Piacenza Expo, ANIPA and the Association of Underground Water School and Training, took off on November 8, 2019. The objective of the remarkable initiative from a professional and technological point of view - is to provide a valuable update to the operators of the drilling sector in the geotechnical field, with methodological insights accompanied by field tests in the presence of engineers and product managers of the main houses machine and equipment manufacturers. The first appointment included, as we said, a full day of study and insights which included, according to the plans, a theoretical part held in the classroom and a practical part carried out outside the Piacenza Expo Congress Center. “For the future, we plan to start collaborations with other associations and bodies representing the sector - announced the organizers of Geofluid Academy - To cover

the entire range of applications of the sector represented by the event, the appointment will take place every two years. In fact, the Geofluid Academy initiatives will be proposed in odd years, with a specific training and information moment dedicated from time to time to distinct issues in the field of drilling technology “. The current project, as it was found directly during this first appointment, plans to provide theoretical-practical training and educational support to operators in the sectors that concern the research, extraction and transport of underground fluids, the geognostic and geotechnical investigations, special foundations and directional drilling, tunnel construction, analysis, environmental monitoring, land reclamation, soil defense and hydrogeology in general. The theme of the first appointment of Geofluid Academy was dedicated to the “Discovery of drilling rigs and their applications”. In the classroom, the technical interventions of Claudio Rossi and Stefano Chiarugi of ANIPA on the drilling equipment in relation to the type of well designed and on the main technologies currently in use -

were followed by specific workshops conducted by Andrea Dobrigna of Casagrande (geothermal drilling with double head), Federico Saporito di Fraste (reverse circulation drilling: methods, machines and equipment), Livio Guzzo di Comacchio (double head drilling systems and their use in the construction of wells. Optimization elements) and Matteo Massenza (Massenza Drilling Rigs-Massenza Fu Giuseppe) on some extreme applications for the drilling of wells. The theory then followed the practice, with demonstrations and field tests with the help of the most recent drilling models of the four manufacturers mentioned. Specifically, the demonstrations concerned the work of a tricone bit, the circulation of fluid, sludge systems, residue management, the application with a down the hole hammer, the maneuver of the traditional and automatic drilling rods and the maneuver coating pipes. At the end of the day, ANIPA’s Gino Longo carried out a review on the importance of the technical characteristics examined and their impact on the design of wells for the supervision of the works of a drilling site.
