The owners search for the perfect olive farm extended from Paarl to Plettenberg Bay, eventually leading to the purchase of a piece of heaven at the foot of the Rooiberg in the Breede River Valley. When farming began on Zoetigheyd, the owner learnt all about natural farming, the results are now evident in the gorgeous oil grown and pressed on the farm.

There are no chemicals on the farm, ensuring that the eco system on the farm maintains the balance and harmony of nature. Zoetigheyd has its own olive press, built using strict international export requirements and showed the way at the 2020 SA Olive Oil Awards, winning a record 4 gold medals and a silver medal for their extra virgin olive oils - a medal haul unmatched in the industry. Zoetigheyd’s extra virgin olive oil is currently supplied to Woolworths.

When the next-door farm needed new custodians, the owners bought it and renovated the old house to create a fabulous self-catering guest house, a tranquil retreat where one can look down the valley over the olive groves to the Langeberg mountains beyond.
