“Originally, I went for a romantic feel, but when I re-did the decor, I decided on a chic, colourful, east-coast-of-France look, adding French whites and lots of stripes, which are an obsession of mine. I spontaneously added modern art and posters and applied modern, washable fabrics to foor seating, soft sofas and occasional ottomans for an open and easy feel. I love looking out over little St. James beach and seeing the multi-coloured antrek hokkies (dressing booths). They make me feel happy. I love that I live close to so many little restaurants. We buy fresh bread and pastries at Cafe Olympia, go to Beira Mar for Portuguese, and take our day-tripping friends to Kalkies. Mostly, as St. Jamesians, we braai fresh harbour fsh at home. Folk Cafe is our favourite spot for morning coffee.
There are Silvermine mountain hikes, too, with its captivating vistas, and quaint Kalk Bay and Simonstown in the other direction. And, a big psst: the St. James weather is perfect for eight to nine months of the year, plus we never ever get wind.” Current owner
We just love Condover’s location; secreted away on the quieter Golden Mile strip, but with Cape Town not too far away. Whilst there are benefts to having the city buzz within easy reach, a different mood sets when you come around the Muizenberg bend and see the sea. It totally transports you to another world!

“Condover has been my happiest home ever, and oh, how sad I am that we are to part ways. When we saw that the boardwalk was a stone’s throw from our front door, we knew we had hit the jackpot! When I’m upstairs, it’s as if I am on an ocean liner, and I daydream of the light dancing across the bay and the endless beaches within reach. Our family loves beach hopping; we set off on a sunny day and splash in fresh tidal pools, and walk all the way to Muizenberg, where we step out with our dogs for the longest beach walk in the world. We often swim, then treat ourselves to an ice cream or pizza or get into something spicy at the Mexican spot, Tortuga Loca.
