Profile of Pere Planells, visual artist, painter and sculptor.
Pere Planells i Bonet, was born in the city of Ibiza, on February 2, 1950, he graduated in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona. He was an assistant to the American artist, a member of the NY abstract movement, Conrad Marca-Relli. He also studied Cinema at the Independent Film School of Barcelona (Eixalà). He co-directed the documentary Amen Romaní 1/1970 / Amen Romaní 2/1970, with Francesc Juan in the effervescence of Catalan underground cinema. In 1976 he was co-executive director of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Ibiza, with Rafel Tur Costa and Leopoldo Irriguible.
He has been Professor of Drawing and Full Professor of Drawing at various institutes. Doctor in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona with the thesis: Theoretical and practical contributions on versatility, development and modular location.
