ARTIST DIGS INTO MAIL COOLUM ARTIST JACK HAGAN WILL BE READING THE MAIL AT TICKLE PARK EVERY TUESDAY, THURSDAY AND SATURDAY AT 4PM FROM MAY 13 TO JUNE 3 IN HIS ROLE AS KEEPER NUMBER 7 IN THE COOLUM KEEPER PROJECT.
The Keepers are described in the project promotion as being archaeologists of local stories, with each being a Coolum based artist, charged with taking a stint as an observer, collector, maker and storyteller in the community. During Jack’s time at Tickle Park there will be five interactive mailboxes where people have the opportunity to connect with their community via anonymous mail. “I’m looking forward to being Coolum News - May 2022
the messenger and invite everyone to get involved,” Mr Hagan said. “Who knows what could happen and what we might reveal. Let’s have some fun with this, Coolum.” Sunshine Coast Council Division 9 Councillor Maria Suarez said the Coolum community had embraced the previous six Keepers and the project itself. “This Keeper Project is such an innovative way to capture the stories and essence of Coolum in a fun and interactive way,” Cr Suarez said. “I encourage everyone who lives, works and plays in the area to contribute and be part of the story,” she said.
