2018 is upon us and with it comes the promise of a great harvest and the winery team are in full force preparing the winery for an excellent vintage. Our vineyards across all locations are looking full and lush and after speaking to our Owner and Chairman, Dr John Davis they are in top condition and the crop should have high yields!

Sally Chrystal. Sally brings with her 16 years of Wine Club knowledge and is a great asset to the Pepper Tree Team. Sally has a knack for great customer service and is looking forward to meeting all our extended wine club family!

As part of our own expansion and growth we are currently developing and expanding our online platform with a new website. – Watch this space!

We have recently finished the last of our events for 2017 with our 3 day Annual Cruises on Sydney Harbour which was a great way to celebrate our successes during the year.

WINE REVIEW Stone Mountain Single Vineyard 2017 Orange Riesling Situated at our high altitude vineyard in Orange, our ‘Stone Mountain’ Riesling vines are 800m above sea level, ensuring a long cool ripening season.

This is a first for Pepper Tree – a Single Vineyard Orange Riesling grown on the estate vineyard on Boree Lane in Orange.

Orange blossom and lime lift the nose, leading into a linear palate with notes of bush honey, lime and a zesty acid line.

This is a dry style Riesling, made to be thirst quenching and delicious to drink now or over the long term.

Limited Release 2017 Orange Pinot Noir Rosé

Our extremely busy bottling season is now drawing to a close, with all of our Single Vineyard Wrattonbully and Coonawarra reds now safely in glass! We are very happy with how these wines are looking – particularly the 2016 Gravels Shiraz and the 2016 21A Cabernet – in terms of their fruit expression, tannin length and overall wine quality. As it was such a great year in 2016, we have also bottled a new Single vineyard wine which sits above the 21A Cabernet. But you will have to wait to find out more about that one!

The Orange region of New South Wales is one of Australia's newest premium regions being favoured for its high altitude cool climate. Soils in the central part of the region are derived from the basaltic lavas of the old volcano, and primarily consist of deep red to brown free draining clay loams.

Cleaning is now in full swing in the winery as we prepare ourselves for the next harvest. All of the empty tanks are being cleaned and the floors are spotless. With the great weather we have been having in the Hunter, I expect us to be harvesting by the middle of January. There are also a few other exciting things happening at Pepper Tree and we look forward to telling you all about them early next year.

The 2017 Rosé is a refreshing and crisp style made from Pinot Noir grapes off our Orange vineyard. Rich strawberry and cream with guava notes are abundant on the palate.

Annual Cruise Review Once again the Pepper Tree Team headed to Sydney for our annual weekend of cruising around Sydney Harbour. The weather was absolutely perfect for members and their guests to take in the stunning scenery and sip on their favourite Pepper Tree Wines!
