ALetterfromtheFounder

The last five years have been an extraordinary adventure, the heart of which is something far more important than setting up our humble platform to write down our thoughts for others toread. Fundamentally, thePepperdineBeaconis a movement of people seeking to answer a few big questions. Whodowe:students, faculty, andalumni want to beas apeople?Howdowewant theworldtoknowus? And how do we create ripples which positively impact our universityandworld?

To answer those questions, a small group of people came together in 2020 to start a movement. More than just a media group, this was a movement of students, faculty, staff, alumni and donors who sought a return to the traditional mission of Pepperdine: a rich education grounded in traditional understandings of Scripture with the goals of equippingstudentsfor successandpurposeintheworldaroundthem. This movement has onlygrownstrongerandweareenormouslyindebtedtothetrust of all thesestakeholders. Those questions we asked at our founding have been answered, but they are answers which require daily striving. We want to be known as a community that purses ?truthwithout fear?inall wedo, aspires to excellenceinall wedo, and seeksto honor God inall wedo. Myself andour Oversight Boardmembers,as well asour AdvisoryBoard, look forward to another five years of training up the next generation of thoughtful and courageousthinkersandleaders.
