This yearbook marks the conclusion of an important chapter in the lives of a remarkable group of young people. For you, our Upper VI, it is both a celebration of all that you have achieved during your time at Peponi School and a record of friendships, memories, experiences, and moments that I hope will remain with you long after you leave these gates.
The Class of 2026 will, I suspect, be remembered not simply for its accomplishments, though there have been many. You have been a year group of talent, character, humour, leadership, and individuality. Across the classroom, on the sports field, within music and drama, through service, friendship, and the rhythms of daily school life, you have contributed enormously to the character and spirit of Peponi School.
Yet what has defined you most clearly has been the way in which you have carried yourselves during a year that brought extraordinary challenges. At the beginning of Trinity Term, our community faced a tragedy that was almost unimaginable. The loss experienced by the school, and particularly by your year group, affected us all deeply and, during that profoundly difficult period, the leadership shown by the Upper VI was exceptional. You demonstrated dignity, compassion, maturity, and quiet strength at a time when those qualities mattered most. In supporting one another, and in supporting the wider school community, you reminded us all of the importance of kindness, humanity, and togetherness.
Whilst we will never forget those whom we have lost, you have also shown that hope, friendship, and joy can still endure even in difficult times. That spirit
has remained evident throughout the remainder of the year in the laughter of boarding houses, the energy of school events, the camaraderie of sports teams, and the countless small moments that together define life at Peponi School.
As you now prepare to leave, you do so with my admiration, gratitude, and affection, together with that of the entire school community. Each of you will leave your own mark upon Peponi and each of you will carry something of Peponi with you into the future. I am immensely proud not only of all that you have achieved, but of the people you have become.
This yearbook captures only a small part of the journey. The memories, friendships, and experiences represented within these pages will, I hope, remain a source of happiness and reflection for many years to come.
I concluded my Prize Giving introduction with a few lines from C. P. Cavafy’s Ithaka and, as this is perhaps the book many of you will keep long after Prize Giving has passed, it felt appropriate to include those thoughts again here. Ithaka is a poem that feels especially fitting for you, our leaving Upper VI. At its heart, it reminds us that life is shaped not only by the destinations we eventually reach, but by the journey itself, the people who travel beside us, and the experiences that form us along the way. It is a poem about resilience, wisdom, friendship, and perspective. In many respects, it reflects the character and spirit you have shown throughout your time at Peponi School and particularly during a year that tested you deeply, whilst also revealing your compassion, courage, and strength of community.

Mr J. Njoroge
You’ve all been such a valued part of this place, and it won’t be quite the same without you. I have enjoyed every bit of interaction with all of you. Take care of yourself out there, and don’t forget how much you’re capable of.
Mr Jeremy
To the class of 2026,
Your journey at Peponi is now over. What we leave behind is greater than we may ever fully know. Each of you has made an impact in your own way, on friends, teachers, staff, and the wider school community, and together you have shaped this place in lasting and meaningful ways. As one journey ends, another begins, bringing new challenges, fresh opportunities, and endless possibilities. Remember that every ending is simply the start of something greater.
Allow yourself the freedom to not have everything figured out yet, because truthfully hardly anyone does. Be open to new experiences, meet new people, and fully embrace the communities you are about to become part of. Many of us have known the same faces since prep school or even earlier, and while it is sad to part ways, it gives us a glimpse of just how big, beautiful, and full of promise the world truly is.
We have shared victories both big and small, learned from our mistakes, and grown not only academically, but as people. As we move forward, we should continue
to be the multi-faceted individuals this school has helped shape, carrying with us our curiosity, resilience, creativity, and the confidence to grow into whoever we choose to become. No matter where life takes us, Peponi will always be a home to each of us. No distance or time can change the bond we share or the memories we carry with us. Wherever we end up in the world, we will always have this place, and each other, to lean on, and to call home.
As Head of School, it has been an honor to represent a class filled with so much creativity and heart. Each of you have left your mark on this community, and together we’ve helped shape a school we’re proud to leave behind. Wherever we go, the Class of 2026 will always share this place, this time, and the memories that come with it.
Congratulations Class of 2026. May you keep striving, keep growing, and never forget how far you’ve come.
With Love,
Tamara Ali Head of School

Dear Graduating Class,
This is a time filled with mixed emotions. It is a moment we have long anticipated, a milestone that marks the end of one chapter and the beginning of another. We celebrate your achievements, your resilience, and the journey that has brought you to this point.
But we also gather with heavy hearts.
As we stand here now, it is important to honour our departed colleagues, not only in silence or sorrow, but in the way we choose to move forward. Let us carry their memory with us: in our kindness, in our courage, and in the way we support one another.
Graduating class, life beyond these walls will bring both joy and challenge. If there is anything this moment reminds us of, it is that life is fragile and precious. Do not take your time, your friendships, or your
opportunities for granted. Speak the kind words. Take the chances. Be present.
You leave here not just with knowledge, but with shared experiences, some joyful, some painful, that have shaped who you are. Let them guide you, strengthen you, and remind you of what truly matters.
As you step into the future, do so with purpose. Carry the spirit of those who have departed with you. Live in a way that would make them proud.
Today, we celebrate you. Today, we remember them. And today, we stand together, as a community, resilient and united. I am truly proud of everything you have accomplished and the resilience you have shown along the way.
Congratulations, Class of 2026. Your journey is just beginning, and the future is yours to shape.
