Rohini is a talented artist best known for putting together with Frances Hog the quilt project for Wanjira Mathai. She brings a wealth of experience, having guided year groups in cutting patterns, stitching, and assembling hummingbirds and leaves using reused off-cut fabric.

In these engaging sessions, children will: 1. Learn the basics of hand sewing and embroidery, including essential stitches and techniques.

2. Discover the joy of transforming fabric into art by creating their own unique pieces — from simple patterns to more advanced designs.

In this class your children will learn vital skills, empowering them to be calm and confident in facing life challenges.

Activities include self-control, staying strong, stying fit, and building confidence.

They will learn how to prepare, cook, and bake fun, delicious appetizers, main courses, and desserts from a wide variety of cuisines.

Included in the terms fee: cooking skills and technique training, lesson prep time before and during the class, carefully sourced ingredients to cater to all dietary needs and restrictions and takehome samples of goodies prepared...unless they have already eaten them at school.

In our art sessions, Year 1 to Year 3 students are introduced to the styles and techniques of famous artists such as Claude Monet, Vincent van Gogh and Pablo Picasso. Each session focuses on a different artist and technique—ranging from bold brushstrokes and layering to collage, and colour mixing. Children explore these methods through creative, hands-on projects that encourage selfexpression and build confidence. These sessions also help deepen their understanding of visual art and inspire a lifelong appreciation for creativity and art history.

Look no further...come join the splash-tastic fun of water polo! Water polo is an exhilarating team sport played in the water, combining swimming skills with strategy and teamwork. During the sessions, children will learn the basics of water polo in a safe supportive environment.

From ball handling, passing and shooting to learning how to tread water effectively. There is something for every child to enjoy and develop a skill. Just bring your swimsuit, towel, drinking water and a positive attitude. Join and discover the thrill of water polo while listening to some great tunes.

Minimum 5 children per session if there are less children the rate will change. The confirmed rate will be communicated before the start of activities based on the number of sign ups for each session.

Learn from the best! Play tennis with East Africa’s no. 1 Player Ismael Changawa, a Level II ITF certified coach, Kenya Davis Cup team player and his team. Ismael, who will be offering individual and group lessons at Peponi House, has a proven record of helping players improve their technique and passion for the game.

Calling all Young Engineers! Get your children a ticket to explore the innovative world of ROBOTICS to stimulate their creative thinking, develop their team building skills and develop their ability to analyse engineering concepts. YOUNG VOCALIST’S COMPETITION 2026 COMPETITION RULES ELIGIBILITY The competition will comprise an Individual category with three age groups: ●​ The Junior Solo will be open to entrants 13 years and younger. ●​ The Intermediate Solo will be open to entrants between 14-16 years. ●​ The Senior Solo will be open to entrants between 17-20 years.

In all cases the effective date for calculating age will be 2nd October 2026.

Entrants should have attained a minimum proficiency level as follows (using recognized music exam boards such as ABRSM/LCM/Rockschool): ●​ Junior Solo – Grade 4 ●​ Intermediate Solo – Grade 5 ●​ Senior Solo – Grade 6 All entrants should have been residents of East Africa for a period of not less than six months prior to the competition date.

MUSIC Competitors should prepare TWO CONTRASTING songs. These can be from a variety of genres e.g. Popular, Classical, Jazz Standard, Traditional, Musical Theatre, Own compositions N.B. At least ONE song MUST be from the Classical/Jazz Standard/Traditional genres. ●​ If necessary, songs can, and should, be transposed to suit the competitor’s voice. ●​ Rapping will NOT be considered. ●​ At least ONE of the pieces MUST be accompanied by piano/guitar and BOTH pieces must be memorised. ●​ Competitors should provide their own accompanists. Live accompaniments for both songs are highly encouraged and may convey an advantage over performances using backing tracks. ●​ No microphones will be used and no equipment will be provided for playing backing tracks. Competitors and their teachers must ensure that they have all the necessary equipment for playing their own backing tracks and that equipment is well charged. ●​ Each song performed should last 4 minutes or under. ●​ N.B. Please avoid songs with lengthy instrumental sections, omit repeats and avoid multiple verses and choruses.

N.B. if selected for the finals, competitors must sing the same pieces as in the preliminaries.

PRIZES​ There will be THREE plaques, one for the winner in each of the categories in the Competition, along with a certificate. Runners-up will be awarded a medal and certificate and Finalists will be awarded a certificate. In the Preliminary event all competitors will be awarded a Participation Certificate. Presentations for these will take place at the end of each session.

JUDGING​ Performances will be marked by a panel of adjudicators. Marks will be awarded for: ●​ ●​ ●​ ●​ ●​ ●​

There is no official dress code and competitors are welcome to perform in school uniform.

The role of the adjudicators at the preliminary heats will be to select those to go forward to the Finalist’s Concert. At the Finalist’s Concert the adjudicators will select the prize-winners (1st, 2nd & 3rd position).

COMPETITION DATES ●​ The preliminary heats will be held on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th October 2026 at the Performing Arts’ Centre, Braeburn Garden Estate School. ●​ N.B. Depending on the number of entries, these heats may commence earlier than 12:00pm. ●​ Competitors will be advised by email of the time when they will be asked to perform. ●​ Warm-up rooms will be available. Competitors will be notified in advance of their time of performance and should arrive not later than 30 minutes before that time. ●​ In the event of an excessive number of entries, we reserve the right to restrict the number of competitors participating in the preliminary heats. ●​ The finals will be held on Sunday 18th October 2026, from 1:00pm at the Performing Arts’ Centre, Braeburn Garden Estate School.

ENTRY FORMS & ENTRY FEE 1.​ Entry will be by Google Form and the link, along with the competition rules, will be emailed to schools, music teachers and interested individuals.​ 2.​ Clear copies of both songs should be uploaded to the Google Form as PDF files only (in the correct orientation and sequence). The file names should be clearly identified with the competitor’s full name, category and school.​ 3.​ The deadline for registration and payment is Friday 25th September 2026.​ 4.​ Entry fees (500kshs for each competitor) should be paid to the following Paybill number: 316550 (Kenya Conservatoire of Music). The account number should be the competitor’s name followed by YVC2026 e.g. JamesLaightYVC2026 ​ Please input your transaction code into the required box on the Google Form.

All entry fees will go towards the honoraria for our judges and the plaques and medals for the competitors. Chosen pieces must NOT be changed after registration. If they are, competitors will receive zero marks.
