Woodland Academy Update
Peoria Tribe of Indians of Oklahoma at Woodland Academy Learning Center Waiting List Open 4th of July The Early Childhood Program continues to make progress for anticipated opening of Firework Woodland Academy Learning Center. Enrollment is now open to Peoria children, ages six weeks through twelve years, at both our locations. Our program offers a unique menu Show 2021!!!of services, including a family engagement component tasked with the responsibility of assisting families with resources they may need. Through this component we are able to connect families with resources for tuition assistance, in an effort to combat the barrier of tuition expenses. In addition to opening enrollment to Peoria children, we have begun accepting applications for our waitlist, for the anticipated opening of Woodland Academy Learning Center. This has generated a great deal of interest in our program! Peoria Tribe of Indians Aquatic Facility welcomed Miami-Area Upward Bound Students to educate and share the knowledge of fishing, stream hydrology, and the life of mussels. The students participated in three different hands on activities throughout the Aquatic Facility and received a complimentary tackle box at the end. The students seemed to enjoy their time, had plenty of engaging and interesting questions, and left with an experience to remember. #PeoriaProud

Veterans Day Commencement Ceremony at Peoria Tribe Cemetery
It was a beautiful Veterans Day event held at the Peoria Tribe of Indians of Oklahoma Indian Cemetery on November 11, 2021. Attendees had the chance to hear the stories from Principle Speaker Gregory “Greg” Winney (Third Class, Petty Officer, US Navy), Chief Craig Harper, and other veterans in attendance. Our deepest honor and celebrations go out to our heroes and warriors of the United States of America, on Veterans Day and everyday.
