Member Connection Dear Member,

As we approach the holiday season, your Credit Union is working hard to support our community. The Credit Union Team has volunteered in the community for over 650 hours with two months still left in the year. This volunteering encompasses board leadership to event support. Additionally, we support local charities in need by providing much needed food for Thanksgiving celebrations and adopting families with gifts for their loved ones during the December holidays. Continuing to find ways to support our communities is a fundamental obligation needed today more than ever.

You will also see continued improvements to the products and services we provide you. On the digital front, we’ve added chat functionality to our website as well as a more seamless approach to update your debit card for all online retailers. We look forward to complementing these additions with a new online/mobile banking platform and a new consumer lending platform in Q1 2022. Other products we’ve added include student checking account and a firsttime home buyer mortgage with features that that are designed to make home buying easier. We know there are a lot of financial services options, and we will continue to enhance or create better products and services to meet your needs.

Community Giving Casual for a Cause Our staff has been participating in our monthly employee dress down day program, Casual for a Cause, while donating their dollars to local organizations. In the months of August, September and October, Credit Union employees donated to the Potter League for Animals, the Boys and Girls Club of Newport County and the North Kingstown Food Pantry.

The Potter League for Animals is Rhode Island’s go-to animal care and resource center, where they provide shelter, veterinary care, behavior training, spay & neuter, owner assistance programs, humane education, and the opportunity for thousands of animals to find loving homes each year.

The Boys and Girls Club of Newport County inspires and enables all young people, especially those who need help most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens through camps, athletics, daycare and after school programs.

Today, the Little Red Schoolhouse, home to the North Kingstown Food Pantry, continues to serve the North Kingstown community and is part of the Town’s Emergency Management Plan. Operated with the help of a large crew of dedicated volunteers, the Pantry welcomes North Kingstown residents in need of food.

The Potter League for Animals 32nd Annual Heart & Sole

Walk

On Sunday, October 24th, the Potter League for Animals hosted their yearly Heart & Sole Walk fundraising to continue their mission to enrich lives and promote the humane treatment of animals. Our employees came together again to create a team to raise money for the organization and participate in the walk at Fort Adams State Park.

NARROW RIVER PRESERVATION ASSOCIATION

SILENT ART AUCTION People’s Credit Union is proud to work with the Narrow River Preservation Association and to partner with their Silent Art Auction this fall. Our Wakefield branch is currently hosting three original next works of art that will be available for purchase during the Association’s 2022 auction.

Featuring the beauty of the Pettaquamscutt Estuary, or Narrow River as it’s commonly known, three original oil paintings by Pati Sylvia, Christine Webb, and Lorraine Hynes are available to view at People's Credit Union, 150 Old Tower Hill Road, Wakefield. The public is welcome to come see these in person.

People’s Credit Union has appointed Erin Connor as branch manager of the Credit Union’s North Kingstown Branch on Post Road. Connor will be managing the day-to-day operations of the branch including personnel, member relations covering all personal and business products and services, as well as Credit Union community involvement for the North Kingstown area. Previously Connor served at a variety of financial service organizations with ever increasing responsibility including: Citizens Bank in branch management and outbound sales’ positions, Bank RI and HarborOne Bank at the Assistant Vice President/Branch Manager level and most recently as Vice President of PMC Media Group. She has been nominated to the Providence Business News 40 Under 40 and Women to Watch Awards, as well as volunteering as a lead fundraiser for Autism Speaks Out and Meeting Street Telethons.

“As the Branch Manager and Assistant Branch Manager have been promoted to other strategic positions in the Credit Union, we need to ensure the uninterrupted growth and member satisfaction that has been established in the North Kingstown branch. We have the perfect candidate to lead that charge in Erin,” stated Jane McDurman, Vice President, Retail Administration.“ Erin not only brings the extensive financial services management experience People’s sought; but also the commitment to the Credit Union’s core values of helping one another and serving as our members’ financial partner,” McDurman added.

People’s Credit Union Team on Studio 10 After many years of partnering with WJAR Channel 10 we are excited to be part of their interview style show, Studio 10.
