Dear Pentravel,
As we close out year 2025 … dig in and deep dive into this bumper edition of PENPALS. Let us ALL celebrate the incredible year it was. I would love to express my deepest gratitude to each of you. Your dedication, your never-ending fun culture, your perfect diligence, and your true resilience have not only delivered outstanding results but have set a powerful foundation to smash 2026!
Our strength and our ability are really deeply rooted and found within ourselves. Every challenge and solution we faced — we conquered. Everywhere from Sales Teams to Sales Support, from Creative Services to Ticketing Teams, from People Coaching to Recruitment, from Accounts Team to Airfare Specialists to Concierge. The energy, ideas, quality service, and passion you’ve shown in 2025 will propel us into an even more remarkable year. Remember, we’re here to support and grow you. It is about perfecting our Perfect Effort!
Just a few (there were a lot more) of our Travel Highlights and Globe-Trotting Experiences in 2025 at Pentravel:
Pentravel Leaders Gathering Club Med Seychelles. With unreal turquoise-blue sea water temp at 28°C, having unlimited fun (and cocktails) with brilliant Pentravel Leaders was incredibly memorable.
Rising Stars travelled to Thailand! Private yachts, MasterChef-style cooking class to the crazy fun Phuket. No, this was not a remake of Hangover.
Super Stars dream incentive took them on a Grand Tour of Vietnam! With Benjamin, who is really the Host with the Most!
Then, we have All Stars who whisked away with supreme Vanessa to the islands of Maldives. Heard there were a lot of converted Pentravel mermaids on this trip.
Here’s to making the next year of challenges our most successful yet! Wishing you a healthy, happy and family-filled year. With appreciation and excitement for what’s ahead!
Huge Hugs

First country you ever stamped into your passport?
Crete – Greece
If you could recommend just one travel experience that everyone should have at least once in their life, what would it be — and why?
A road trip with no fixed plan, (can be anywhere in the world) Why? Because when you don’t over schedule yourself, you give yourself the space for detours, unplanned stops, and unexpected moments and connections. Some of my most memorable moments come from these ‘in between’ experiences. It reminds you that travel isn’t just about the destination, but everything that happens along the way. I know this isn’t always possible for SA passport holders, but I’ve been lucky enough to do it several times. Three unplanned road trips, (one in Australia, one in New Zealand, and another through Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, and Cambodia), stand out in particular from giving me some of the most significant and incredible travel memories of my life.
Which destination do you secretly think is overrated?
Phuket – Stunning beaches but often overcrowded and over commercialised compared to other lesser-known islands and beach locations in Thailand.
Dream holiday: sun lounger with cocktails or action-packed adventure?
A mix of both: start the day with a sunrise and some action-packed adventures, then enjoy a lazy afternoon zizz on a sun lounger to recharge and prep for a sundowner cocktail or two.
Early flight hustle or red-eye warrior – which one are you?
100% Early flight hustle
Long-haul flight survival kit: what’s always in your carry-on?
•Noise
•Lip
•A
From guiding new consultants through their very first bookings to steering her region with energy and expertise, Beth wears many travel hats.
In this Q&A, she lets us in on her first passport stamp, her survival kit for long-hauls, and the golden rule she believes every consultant should live by.
When you’re not leading your region, where can we usually find you — and what’s your hidden talent or fun fact we might not know?
• You’ll usually find me on the side of the sports field or pool watching my super sporty kids, followed by braai and bevvies with my friends.
•Hidden talent? I can drive from Pietermaritzburg to Durban (1 ½ hours) and not remember how I got there (because I spend the whole trip on the phone)
• I can whip up an amazing Chimichurri from scratch, no recipes needed.
Having spent years with Pentravel and then choosing to return, what is it about the company that truly sets it apart from others?
It’s the people. There’s a spirit here that you don’t find elsewhere. We care deeply about our people and their successes, it’s a family vibe, but with high standards and accountability. That mix makes it special.
“Beth’s golden rule” every new consultant should live by?
Can’t give you one, so here are my 3!
• Know where to find the answers. You don’t need to know everything, but you must know how to find it and who to ask. Stay curious, keep learning, and build on your knowledge constantly. Knowledge is power.
• Chase relationships, not sales. If you genuinely connect with people and earn their trust, the sales will follow naturally.
•Jump straight into the Pentravel culture & vibe from day one. Being new doesn’t mean staying in the corner. We hired you because we saw potential, so go and shine bright.
That your reputation is what people say about you when you’re not in the room. It taught me to always act with integrity, follow through on your promises, and treat everyone with respect, because that’s what really defines you. Best piece of advice you’ve ever received in your career?
And finally—travel motto you live by?
Travel keeps me open minded, keeps me humble and makes me want more out of life. Plus it’s another way I can add amazing chapters to my life story.
From bringing her cruise ship adventures into the classroom to sparking energy in every training session, Chanté is all about blending fun, learning, and a love for travel.
In this Q&A, she shares her quirks, her best travel laughs, and the wisdom she hopes every consultant takes with them on their journey.

Desert island pick: one book, one food, one luxury item?
• Book: “Eat, Pray, Love” – For some reflection, travel vibes, and soul-searching
A professional chocolate taster. I feel I was born for the job — zero pressure, just me, a mountain of chocolate, and a notebook to write “tasting notes and improvements” while really just eating my body weight in Lindt and getting paid to do it. If you weren’t in travel, what would your dream career be?
I’ll admit it… I’ve rewatched The Office so many times that I now quote Michael Scott in actual meetings or conversations without some people noticing. Snack-wise: The secret is out –I love pouring some olive oil and sea salt on vanilla ice cream (Don’t knock it ‘til you try it). Guilty pleasure TV show, snack, or hobby you never admit to?
You’ve travelled extensively — what’s the most unexpected thing you’ve learned from a destination?
The list is almost endless, but one thing that really blew my mind is Iceland — it’s literally made of fire and ice. Drive two hours one way and you’re surrounded by glaciers and snow-capped mountains. Turn the wheel the other way, and suddenly you’re on a black sand beach with volcanic rocks, watching an active volcano doing its thing offshore. It’s like the planet decided to show off every extreme it had — all in one country – there are also over 10 000 waterfalls in Iceland. Drinking the glacier water – the taste? Hard to truly describe but somehow it tastes both pure and alive.
Best travel memory that still makes you laugh?
Our first time in Cabo San Lucas, of course, it’s Mexico, so tequila tastings are everywhere… and often free. Walking through the streets, out of nowhere, two Mexican guys handed me a bearded dragon wearing a tiny sombrero. My husband was chatting with the guy, and there I was, in that particular state of mind, having a full-blown conversation with this little fellow. I decided to call him Señor Sombrerito, all I could think was: what a cute little fellow, wearing his sombrero so proudly! (There’s an R-rated story that goes with this… but that’s one best shared over a glass of wine.)

•Food: Pizza. Because even burnt island-style pizza is still pizza.
• Luxury Item: Inflatable hot tub – Because if you’re stranded, might as well relax in style.

What excites you most about being a trainer at Pentravel?
Watching the “lightbulb moment” when someone realizes, “Hey, I can actually do this!” Plus, I basically get to hype people up for a living — and honestly, if cheerleading was an Olympic sport, I’d have some medals.
What’s your “go-to” strategy to energize a training session?
Movement + laughter. Whether it’s a silly icebreaker, making everyone stand and do a “power pose,” or throwing in some unexpected jokes, I want people buzzing — not snoozing.
If you could give every new consultant just one tip, what would it be?
Sell the dream, not the plane ticket. Anyone can quote a price — but painting the picture of someone sipping cocktails on a beach, phone off, kids building sandcastles? That’s the magic.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received in your career?
“Don’t measure your progress with someone else’s ruler.” Everyone has their own pace, their own journey, and their own strengths. Comparing yourself to others is like racing a snail against a cheetah — pointless and exhausting. Focus on your lane, celebrate your wins, and you’ll get there in style.
If your life had a soundtrack, what would be the opening track?
If my life had a soundtrack, it would start with “Physical” by Dua Lipa — because I’m all about high energy, going full throttle, and tackling the day like it’s a workout for both body and brain. It’s impossible to listen without moving, laughing, or feeling unstoppable — and honestly, that’s exactly how I want and try to show up every morning: pumped, focused, and ready to crush it.

A FRESH NEW CHAPTER

OUT WITH THE OLD (CAPE GATE). IN WITH THE BOLD (GLENGARRY)
One client couldn’t check into their hotel — because they had luggage.
Another time, someone had a full-on laser gun issue. Don’t ask. We still don’t know.
While chatting about having Kellogg’s Cornflakes for breakfast, a client in the office chimed in:
“At least someone’s getting it — she’s doing it for all the girls!”
When she left, she told Zuki to give her tips next time she comes in. We’re still recovering.
I had a Sun City client pay for the entire holiday in R200 instalments, until it was fully paid off. Now that’s dedication!

ZUKI
Firstly, a big thank you to my fantastic team for having my back and helping make this move happen — I truly couldn’t have done it without you!
A very BIG thank you also goes to our wider team for all the support in making this move possible. We are beyond excited to officially announce our move from Cape Gate to our new home at Glengarry Shopping Centre! From day one, Centre Management and the local community have given us the warmest welcome. Their hands-on support has made settling in a positive and seamless experience, and we already feel right at home. A special shout-out goes to Thandi, who flew in from Durban and supported us every step of the way. Her hard work and dedication truly made all the difference in making this move a reality.
Our new store, right next to Woolworths Food (always a winning spot), comes with so many perks: improved trading hours, fresh air, and fantastic interaction with clients. The response from the community has been incredible. While we’re still working on getting more signage up and spreading the word, enquiries are already flowing in, and the team is buzzing with energy.
Fun fact: our very first booking from Glengarry was a dream holiday to Mauritius, handled with care by our newest team member, Nicole. We’ve worked hard to make this move happen, and we are optimistic, energised, and so excited for everything the future holds for Pentravel Glengarr
Remember a few months ago when Cape Gate packed up, moved, and settled into a shiny new spot? Well, just wanted to take a moment to give a huge shoutout to the Glengarry Gals for keeping your cool, flexing those teamwork muscles, and making this move happen without losing your sanity (well not too much of it anyway)... From navigating endless boxes to setting up the new space (and maybe a few “where’s the tea/coffee at?” moments), you all showed amazing teamwork and patience. It was most definitely a wild ride of planning and a few unexpected hurdles (seriously, who knew moving could be such an extreme sport?), but you took it in your stride, and each one of you played a key part in making this move happen as smoothly as possible.
Our ‘new home’ is welcoming, bright and fresher than a passport stamp (thanks to Thandi).
It is the perfect place to create travel magic! Come pop in and say hi when you in the area
A group of ladies on a Costsaver Tour were having the time of their lives… and sent photos in front of the Eiffel Tower captioned, “Having such a good time in Rome!”
Client wanted to book Vic Falls but first needed to confirm if she could travel with pizzas and chicken nuggets for her 20-year-old son — just in case the hotel didn’t have any.
A client fired off 27 questions in a row without a pause, then told Candice she looked stressed — and that she mustn’t stress because her friend had just died of stress.
ZUZI
Client refused to believe he couldn’t do a name change on a ticket — so he asked ChatGPT out loud, on speaker. The AI screamed back: “NO! YOU CAN’T DO IT!”
If the floor could have swallowed him whole, it would have.
Client sent a photo of their luggage tag and asked: “Is this our house address or the Paradis address?”
ANA
We booked a small incentive group to Sun City. They called from there asking where their snake demonstration was, because the hotel had no idea. Turns out the voucher said “snakes and equipment” — instead of “snacks and equipment”.

I am thrilled to share that The Cape Carnival was nothing short of a smashing success! The pizza, popcorn and eye-catching décor transported us into a ‘world of whimsy and wonder’.All that attended truly embraced the theme with enthusiasm, playful outfits and dived into the festivities with full hearts. The highlight of the evening, of course, was the auction... With an impressive range of items from travel goodies to tech treats and surprise experiences up for grabs, the prize table was stacked. It is no wonder that the bidders brought their A-game. The prizes were worth every fake cent…The room was full of energy, friendly but fierce competition, and plenty of laughs as everyone tried their luck and walked away with something The bidding battles did not disappoint! That being said, the auction was not just about the prizes… it was also about the vibrant culture that makes our company so unique and special. So a huge thank you to each and every one for bringing the Cape Carnival ‘to life’… Your energy made this event unforgettable. Until next time… - Siobhan

The Auction was such a highlight for us in KZN, and what a night it turned out to be. It was fun, energetic and full of laughs, the perfect mix of friendly competition and good old Pen spirit vibes. From pizza and drinky poos, to keeping our eyes on the prizes, there was plenty of laughter and a great sense of camaraderie all round. What stood out most for me was how it brought all our people together, from consultants to accounts, central services peeps, suppliers and in such a light-hearted and memorable way. The effort that went into the dress up was impressive. The evening really was about more than just the bidding on the awesome prizes, it was about glamming up with our offices, sharing in the excitement, and seeing that “work hard, play harder” attitude come alive. I especially loved seeing our KZN consultants throw themselves into it, showing their competitive edge while still being such good sports. There were also some other special moments, like celebrating our top achievers, announcing the new home for the Culture Croc, best dressed, and simply getting to know one another and enjoying each other’s company outside of the office.
A heartfelt thank you to Monique and the extended creative and marketing team for all the effort, planning, and organising that went into the Auction. To all the helpers behind the scenes with set up, and to our suppliers for the wonderful spoils — we truly appreciate it. - Beth

What an incredible evening we had at our Carnival Auction! The energy was electric, the laughter contagious, and the atmosphere pure carnival magic. The night was filled with creative dress ups, plenty of laughter, popping popcorn and the best part was seeing everyone come together, celebrating in true carnival spirit. But the real showstopper? The auction! Some seriously competitive bidding. We’ve honestly never seen anyone bid so high on a box of chocolates before… Talk about a sweet victory! A massive thank you to everyone who joined, bid, played, and helped make the evening such a memorable one! Here’s to more fun-filled nights ahead! - Nadine

Beachcomber
Top 10. The name of the event says it all. This is one of the most prestigious events in the travel industry, the Oscars of Travel. Beachcomber is the only operator that recognises and celebrates the sales of agencies nationwide. This event is not just any event, it is the trip of a lifetime and once you have had the chance to attend the Top 10, your only goal will be to go again!
I have had the privilege of going on a Beachcomber Top 10 four times now (once with Cresta in 2019 and three times with Menlyn) and it is the one event I work for every year. Selling Beachcomberto our clients is the easiest thing to do because we know our clients will have the best experience and even if they are brand new clients, they will become repeat clients. Honeymoons lead to babymoons and then they upgrade to family moons and that is how it goes on.

Beachcomber loves Pentravel and, as a result, love our clients. We have such an amazing relationship with them, and they really do give our clients the best service and first choice. The office always makes a joke on how I believe there are only 8 resorts on Mauritius, and everyone knows I love a stukkie Beachcomber. When clients ask for Thailand or local MSC I switch sell to Beachcomber. I wish everyone could experience Top 10 at least once.

Here are my top 10 highlights at TOP 10! (in no particular order)

Being invited by Elmien to attend the Top 10 with her
Experiencing a beautiful dinner at the amazing Royal Palm and singing Champ Elys Ees in the bus with everyone Room Drop Spoils: From personalised phone stand, dodo rum to Clarens gift box.
Sunbathing and partying on a Catamaran for a day and Pirates joining in Top 10 Gala Dinner, and receiving third place out of 4200 retail stores!!!!
Partying with all the other Pen Girls and Paulo
Reuniting with old friends and making new ones
Private pool party at the Crescent pool of Trou Aux Biches
Beach day at Victoria next to Pinky Bar
Experiencing how Beachcomber truly cares and helping you feel better when feeling ill.
Beachcomber Top 10… the most anticipated event of the travel calendar is just WOW.
I don’t think I can pick highlights, but I’ll try…
• The most insane check-in at 2am, complete with sushi and bubbles.
• Room drops that were so thoughtful and special — every gift felt amazing.
• The catamaran cruise — my absolute favourite day! A private catamaran with a DJ, beers flowing, seafood BBQ, snorkelling at Coin de Mire, and even being “hijacked” by pirates (TAB management) serving Champagne and oysters.
• Dinner at the exquisite Royal Palm — #LesChampsElysées vibes.
• Lunch at Vic — a private set ting at Pinky Bar, with the best beach set-up, a DJ playing, and an outstanding lunch (their chef is insane!).
• Pool party bliss — flamingos, burgers, sushi, Aperol… pure perfection.
• The Awards — the most spectacular evening celebrating our friends and colleagues. Elegant décor, incredible food, and such a joy catching up with our Beachcomber family. The after-party in the spa was next-level — we were so spoilt!
These are just a few highlights from this unforgettable trip, with so many more dinners, gifts, and special moments I could share. Thank you, Beachcomber, for another incredible trip! xx

I hardly know where to begin — the Top 10 Awards in Mauritius with Beachcomber was truly an unforgettable experience filled with special memories. From the moment we arrived late in the evening, Mautourco welcomed us with smiles, thoughtful gifts, and even a live band playing soft upbeat music. After a smooth check-in, a cold platter of snacks, water, and the most delicious macarons awaited me in my room, along with a beautiful Trou aux Biches gift bag featuring the iconic dodo bird — such a thoughtful touch. The next day, I joined fellow travel agents on a catamaran cruise — a perfect mix of light drizzles, sunshine, great music, and fresh, delicious food. The surprises continued, with unexpected “pirates” handing out oysters on our return, making the day even more memorable! Throughout the trip, I was struck by the kindness, professionalism, and warmth of the Beachcomber staff. They are truly hardworking, humble, and always eager to help — whether finding honey at breakfast or offering advice on water activities when conditions weren’t ideal.
Every property offered something special. Royal Palm was regal in service and atmosphere, with moments like French karaoke at Champ-de-Elysées making it unforgettable. Victoria impressed with its spacious beach, lively yet relaxed vibe, and wonderful dining by the sea. Trou aux Biches, however, stole my heart. The awards evening was spectacular — elegant décor, perfectly timed courses, and a night full of surprises. Celebrating our 4th-place achievement and connecting with wonderful people like Elodie was a joy. The flamingo and foam pool party the next morning added a playful touch, while the quieter garden pools felt private and serene. Our evening at Mahiya, with henna tattoos, laughter, and beautifully presented Indian cuisine, was another highlight. All in all, it was an unforgettable experience I’d happily repeat in a heartbeat. Trou aux Biches will always have my heart — like Victoria’s stylish, sophisticated cousin who knows how to throw the perfect party

Making it into Beachcomber’s Top 10 is fiercely competitive, and if you’re lucky enough to make it, it’s an experience that will stay with you forever. The spoils start before you even arrive in Mauritius, and it never stopped. Every single day brought something new, magical, and the Beachcomber team went above and beyond to make us feel like royalty. From the smallest thoughtful touches to the biggest surprises (like being joined while on a catamaran by the “pirate management team” of TAB!), it was a celebration of excellence in every sense. The Awards evening itself was truly something so special. Standing in a space filled with the best of the best, you realize that even though we may be competitors, we are united by the same passion. People who don’t know you will celebrate your success with you, because everyone in that space knows the dedication and heart it takes to reach Top 10, and that’s something worth celebrating. That bond is something rare and beautiful.
For us, selling Beachcomber is selling passion. It’s about creating experiences, not just selling a holiday. You need to know the product intimately, share your personal stories and experiences, and sell it with heart and passion, because when you believe in it, your clients will too. Till the next Top 10…. We are beyond blessed and so grateful we got to experience this unforgettable journey, thank you Beachcomber. Xoxo

The Maldives felt like a dream from the moment we arrived. We were welcomed with the beat of drums, warm smiles, and crystal-clear water stretching as far as the eye could see. Our first stop was Siyam Olhuveli, and what a resort it was! We were spoiled with beachfront villas, each with its own private pool. Swimming under the sun in our own pool felt surreal, and dinners by moonlight on the beach were pure magic. The highlight here was seeing my very first manta ray—it took my breath away.
From there, we boarded a seaplane, another once-in-a-lifetime adventure, to Siyam Iru Fushi, a five-star paradise. This time, we had our own butler—it honestly felt like being a celebrity. We spent our days snorkelling in the turquoise ocean right off the sports centre deck. The sunset cruise was unforgettable: dolphins and even smaller whales dancing around the boat as we sipped champagne.
Our final stop was Siyam World, and it completely blew my mind. We joined a pool party under the stars, and later, were treated to our very own private pool party in a two-bedroom water villa—complete with bartenders, music, and snacks. It truly felt like a scene from a music video.
All too soon, the journey ended, but the memories and friendships will last forever. Thank you, Thompsons and Pentravel, for making this dream come true.

Day 1 – 13 Aug

Touchdown in Thailand! The heat hit me like a brick wall, but the welcome at Diamond Cliff Resort in Patong more than made up for it. Too excited to sleep, so we dove straight into Patong’s night markets.
Day 5 – 17 Aug
Finally got to sleep in (thank goodness). The morning was spent shopping and bargaining with locals —we were determined to get “the best deals.” That night was Siam Niramit, and I have no words. Got pulled on stage, blushed the whole way, but at least I got an authentic Thai scarf and my friends’ laughter echoing in my ears as keepsakes!

Day 2 – 14 Aug
Up bright and early for a whirlwind Phuket tour —Karon View Point, Wat Chalong temple, Khaorang Breeze, Old Town—you name it, we saw it. Had my first proper Pad Thai, and let’s just say… I fell in love. Sundown cocktails led to Bangla Road—chaotic, neon, unforgettable.
Day 3 – 15 Aug
Private yacht to Coral Island—fruit platters, snorkeling, oysters, and smiles. Ended with a seafood feast at Thai Orchard (hello, chicken green curry ) Seasickness aside (oops), the day was unreal.
Day 4 – 16 Aug
MasterChef-style cooking class, embroidered aprons and all. Laughed, cooked, ate, then floated between coffee shops and a dreamy Thai foot massage.
Day 6 – 18 Aug
Beach day, cocktails, fire show at the hotel—where we even tried some tricks ourselves (no eyebrows lost, luckily!). The night peaked at Illuzion nightclub—ranked 9th in the world, and yep, it was insane.
Day 12 – 24 Aug
A 24-hour layover in Singapore turned into a mini adventure — Supertrees, Marina Bay, and 28 000 steps on no sleep. Totally worth it.
Exhausted? Yes. Grateful? Absolutely. Would I do it again? In a heartbeat.

Day 7 – 19 Aug
A bittersweet day as we said goodbye to some of our group—so many memories, so many laughs. The hotel staff even framed a group picture for us, which honestly made me emotional. After checking into Phuket Graceland, we kept things simple with poolside sundowners, then strolled down to the beach to watch the sunset paint the sky.

Day 8–11 – 20–23 Aug
Off to Krabi — quieter, charming, and instantly lovable. Beaches, sushi, ice cream for breakfast, fire shows by talented kids, and stormy goodbyes running through the rain.

From the food to the scenery, the beach vibes and the people — oh, what a fabulous trip it had been. Such amazing experiences with amazing people indeed!
The hotel….beeeeaaauuutttiiiffuulll. Time is never enough when you’re having fun. Officially diagnosed with PTSD after experiencing Bangla Road — definitely not for the weak.
The Thai culture is one of a kind. I love how they collaborate all the different religions and cultures into their own, and the great respect they all have for each other.
The temples were on another level — nothing I’ve ever experienced before, absolutely stunning. Thank you, Pentravel, for this amazing experience

After
— a perfect recharge. The evening ended with a sense of mystery and fun as we tracked down the hidden Krystal Bar. Our group photo now proudly hangs on their wall — a little memento for the next travellers to find.

DAY ON THE MEKONG 22 Oct 2025
Today was all about slowing down and embracing the calm beauty of the Mekong Delta. On Unicorn Island, we sampled local honey tea and royal jelly — sweet, earthy, and refreshing. picked up some dried bananas and ginger as souvenirs.
At Dat Dua (Dragon Island), we watched how locals transform every part of the coconut into something useful — from charcoal and milk to candies and straws. Their craftsmanship and creativity were inspiring. The eco-village tour was a feast for the senses: fresh jackfruit, dragon fruit, lychee, cocoa beans, and green guava, all enjoyed with live traditional music. Gliding along the Mekong in a small gondola was pure serenity — a moment that stays with you.
Lunch featured comforting local dishes like soup, rice, morning glory, and Ba Sa fish, a regional specialty. Back in Saigon, our final night included dinner at Viet Village Restaurant and drinks at a sky bar overlooking the glittering city — a perfect farewell to the south that had already captured my heart.
23 Oct 2025 DAY 04
HELLO BEAUTIFUL, HANOI
An early flight brought us to Vietnam’s bustling capital. Our first stop was Cha Ca Thang Long, famous for its one-pot fish dish — a surprisingly delightful start even for a non–fish lover like me. We explored Quoc Pagoda, the Temple of Literature, and Hoa Lo Prison, each offering insight into Hanoi’s layered history. After admiring the Opera House, we took a cyclo ride through the buzzing streets — past honking scooters and tempting aromas of street food.
A glimpse of the Presidential Palace? Not this time — Cyril was in town, as we saw the SA flags all around! We wrapped up the day with dinner at Rue Lamblot, savouring spring rolls, cashew nut chicken, and beef noodles — a warm welcome to Hanoi’s cuisine.
DAY 05
24 Oct 2025
HALONG BAY DREAMS COME TRUE!
Today was a bucket-list moment for us all. The drive through the countryside was a delight — endless green rice paddies, scooters zipping by, and little glimpses of village life. We even stopped at an oyster pearl farm, which was fascinating to see.
Boarding our cruise was like stepping into a storybook — fresh ocean air, dramatic limestone cliffs rising from emerald waters, and the kind of scenery that makes you pinch yourself. Kayaking through quiet coves and taking a dip in the bay felt like pure bliss.
Back on deck, Happy Hour turned into laughter hour, dinner was a feast, and karaoke under the stars had us singing (and laughing) louder than the waves. Halong Bay didn’t just live up to the hype — it swept us off our feet.
DAY 06
25 Oct 2025
MORNING MYSTERIES, AFTERNOON MOCHAS, EVENING MARTINIS
Morning called for adventure, and we answered with a visit to the Dark & Bright Caves. Gliding over glassy water in a bamboo boat, the caves’ shimmering reflections and echoing bats made the moment unforgettable.
After brunch on board, it was back to Hanoi — on the bus we ensured a few well-earned naps! Once in the city, we fuelled up on salt and coconut coffee before diving into the chaotic, colourful markets. A traditional puppet show added a cultural touch, even if didn’t understand a word.
The day ended with a farewell dinner at Home Hanoi and cocktails at The Summit, Pan Pacific — watching Hanoi sparkle below, the perfect close to an unforgettable Vietnam adventure.
DAY 07
26 Oct 2025
NOT GOODBYE, VIETNAM! SEE YOU AGAIN
Before heading to the airport, we squeezed in a few last adventures. Train Street was a highlight — two roaring trains, a refreshing watermelon juice, and yes, a plate of fries (because sometimes you just need fries).
We wrapped up with last-minute shopping, icy mango juice, and a Bánh Mì by the lake — toasted, packed with beef and veggies, and the perfect farewell snack. As we boarded our flight home, couldn’t help but feel grateful — for the people, the laughter, and the countless memories shared along the way.
Vietnam, you’ve been phenomenal. Until next time — cảm ơn!

After a short 10-minute hop from Mahé to Sainte Anne, step off the speedboat into your own secluded escape, where the world slows just enough to notice the magic. Soft, powdery beaches stretch beneath swaying palms, granite boulders rest like gentle giants, and turquoise waters sparkle like brushstrokes of perfection. Club Med Seychelles offers everything except stress. Hike lush island trails, meet tortoises living life unhurriedly, find calm at the Zen pool, or channel your inner island warrior with archery. Sail, float in the warm ocean, or snorkel among vibrant coral reefs, perhaps spotting a graceful turtle gliding by. For pure relaxation, the spa awaits. As the sun sets, the sea-scented breeze guides you to starlit dinners, live music, energetic shows, acrobats, and fire dancers — plus spontaneous dance sessions that become unforgettable memories. Here, nature shows off, inviting you to breathe, relax, and fall a little more in love with life. At Club Med Seychelles, stress is optional and fun is mandatory. Adventure, bliss, or magic — every day is a tropical vibe, with your biggest decision being which cocktail to enjoy next. The Seychelles archipelago, with its 40 inhabited islands, is a postcard-perfect paradise, where beaches sparkle, islands smile, and life finally finds its rhythm.
Our Seychelles Leaders Gathering was pure fun, joy, connection, and good vibes from the moment we met in JNB. Laughter flowed, chats sparked, and camaraderie settled in instantly. New friendships formed, old ones reignited, and the belly-aching laughs never stopped — we truly came home with six packs from laughing alone. Our fabulous suppliers brought the energy too, diving into every moment with us. Photos, dancing, swimming, eating, laughing — everywhere you looked, something fun was happening. Sleepless early mornings didn’t stop anyone from making the most of every opportunity.
The cocktail class delivered creations ranging from delicious to bold, while the adventure lovers met giant tortoises, snorkelled, sailed, and conquered the “just a hike” mountain climb. Sundowners came with extra giggles thanks to flying sea cucumbers, and our final-day catamaran cruise — sunshine, music, good vibes, and even a swim with Alfonso, the baby whale shark — was the perfect finale. And yes, between all the fun, we worked hard too. Our Leadership Master Class brought learning, sharing, growth, and vital leadership lessons that left us energised, empowered, and ready to lead with heart. What a gathering. What a team. What a company to be proud of.
At our recent Leaders Gathering Masterclass, our managers truly brought the heat! In true MasterChef style, we whisked through leadership challenges, stirred up fresh ideas, and plated bold new ways of working with confidence and creativity.
From exploring how to turn bitter moments into better outcomes, to sharpening our time-management tools, we mixed practical skills with real conversations. We unpacked the realities of conflict in the workplace, how to recognise the early “heat,” manage it with calm and clarity, and transform tense moments into opportunities for stronger relationships and improved teamwork. We also explored how today’s fast-changing workforce thinks, works and communicates, and how we as leaders can adapt our approach to meet people where they are, while still guiding them with purpose. Together, we laughed, learned, debated, reflected… and left with stronger bonds, clearer focus, and a five-star recipe for leading our teams forward.
One thing is certain: this Masterclass cooked up exactly what we needed… growth, connection, and a fresh mindset to really lead from the heart.
