For Kori, community has always been at the heart of business. As the co-owner of The Hub on Martin, she has helped create a welcoming place where people come together to connect, celebrate, and enjoy everything our community has to offer.
Now serving her second year on the Penticton Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Kori is the Board Secretary and the Chamber's liaison to Visit Penticton. She enjoys working alongside fellow directors to support local businesses, strengthen partnerships, and encourage collaboration throughout our community.
Kori believes strong relationships are the foundation of a successful business community and is proud to help create opportunities that bring people together and support local business.

This year, the Chamber submitted four policies that were designed to improve the business enviornment for everyone operating throughout the South Okanagan and throughout the province. In fact, our transportation policy which addresses the vulnerabilities of only having a single corridor connecting a community to its larger urban centre, received 100% support.

The Chamber is supporting Mr. John Cowan and his quest to expand EBus’ service into Penticton and the South Okanagan. From a business perspective, we believe this service would strengthen workforce mobility, support tourism, improve accessibility, and enhance economic connectivity.

Penticton Chamber Supports EBus Service into Penticton and the South Okanagan

While recognizing the importance of replacing aging infrastructure, the Chamber expressed strong concern that the closure of Government and Eckhardt’s intersection for 2 weeks beginning July 6th would significantly impact access to the Naramata Bench during one of the busiest periods of the year. We urged the City of Penticton to explore the possibility of postponing construction, and if that isn’t feasible, then to accelerate construction to reduce the length of the closure, try and find a way to maintain partial access, and/or provide wayfinding and communications, and work collaboratively with tourism partners to reduce economic impacts on wineries and surrounding businesses.
We are also encouraging the City to incorporate economic considerations into future infrastructure planning and scheduling decisions by reaching out to potentially impacted stakeholders before a timeline is finalized to understand and potentially mitigate any negative consequences.
Request to Postpone Closure of Government Street & Eckhardt Avenue
WESTCOASTCORRIDORRESILIENCY PARTNERSHIP(WCCRP)
The Chamber has joined other B.C. Cities and Chambers asking the Federal Government to recognize the West Coast Corridor Resiliency Partnership as a national infrastructure priority and to provide the leadership and investment necessary to strengthen this critical economic corridor. It is our position that the cost of proactive investment today will far outweigh the economic and social costs of future disruptions if these vulnerabilities remain unaddressed.
