A Message From Our President Dear Colleague: On behalf of the Senior Team, we’d like to thank those of you that took the time to respond to our Culture Feedback Survey. Your input is valuable and will generate much discussion throughout the organization.

employees, particularly some managers, exhibit “The Pentegra Way” in their behavior. It is imperative that ALL employees exhibit the fundamentals regardless of title or location. Speak Straight was another area several people mentioned. It is meant to foster open communication and understanding for all of us. The comments indicated that some managers send an email addressing a group of people when a one on one conversation is what is needed. In addition, when speaking straight we need to be mindful of tone and presentation. We must be respectful no matter what we need to communicate. Resistance to change was another area pointed out by a few people. We recognize that change is difficult and it is much harder for some. Change is inevitable, we need to embrace it and help each other along – all of us. We are addressing some miscellaneous comments/suggestions with regard to the culture quizzes, Fun Facts, etc.

The results on the graphical summary are favorable. The highest ranking was in question #9 “Do the Right Thing Always/Honor Commitments”, which confirms what we already know – that overall we are a dedicated and committed group. As such, it is no coincidence that our lowest ranking was in question #7 “Own Your Work Life Balance”, although it is better than it was a year ago.

Because we are all in this together, it is important to know what our co-workers are thinking. Below is a summary of the written comments that were submitted. This was an anonymous survey, so we may not be able to address some comments that may need to be further explained. Please feel free to provide further detail or additional comments that would enable us to more effectively respond to any concerns.

Based on the survey feedback, it is evident our renewed emphasis on culture is being well received. While it isn’t realistic for us to think that we would all be following The Pentegra Way flawlessly this early in the process, it is important to recognize that this is a journey – not a “quick fix”. Remember if you walk 20 miles into the woods it means you have to walk 20 miles out of the woods.

The majority of the written comments were positive with the main themes being that we are improving and that Pentegra is committed to this initiative.

With your help, we will continue to monitor how we’re doing. Please keep your suggestions and comments coming so we can make Pentegra the greatest place to work anywhere! See the results here

Culture Corner We’ve made it through all of the fundamentals in our new culture program. This summer, we were pleased to introduce our new Pentegra Culture video. The video features some of our very own employees and is designed to capture our new corporate culture and showcase the fundamentals that are part of the Pentegra Way.

To accompany the video, we also created a “Pentegra Way” brochure which provides an overview of the Pentegra fundamentals. Read the full brochure here.
