David Lindsay-Abaire is a skillful writer who touches our deepest emotions while also seeing the funny side of life.
In Rabbit Hole, we spend two months with the Corbett family who are reeling from the death of their four year old son, Danny. The family members emerge as lovable, caring people who are struggling to help themselves and each other survive the tragedy.
We also explore the emotions of Jason, the young man who was inadvertently caught in the middle of this tragic nightmare.
While working on Rabbit Hole, the actors and director have discovered the layers of emotion that make up the complex and varied ways we all deal with one of the most challenging things that could ever happen to us.
During rehearsal we all cried and laughed as we traveled on the roller coaster of loss and redemption with Becca, Howie, Izzy, Nat and Jason. It has been an enlightening experience, as all good drama should be. We hope you enjoy the show.
Jo has acted, directed and taught theater in New York, Los Angeles and Honolulu. She has been with Pentacle for 41 years and has directed 49 productions. Most recently, she directed Over the River and Through the Woods, Mothers and Sons, The Elephant Man, Beauty and the Beast, The Rainmaker, To Kill a Mockingbird, Dr. Dolittle, The Desperate Hours, Willy Wonka, The Lion in Winter, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, Gypsy and Proof. Other directing credits include Cabaret, A View From the Bridge and Of Mice and Men. Jo’s numerous Pentacle stage credits include Doubt, Wings, Brighton Beach Memoirs and The Glass Menagerie. Jo lives in Salem, teaches an acting workshop at Pentacle Theatre and is retired from the Oregon Department of Justice.
Jennifer GimzewskiJennifer is a veteran Pentacle performer, director and volunteer. She most recently played Emma in Over the River and Through the Woods. She has directed several plays at Pentacle, including Leading Ladies, The Women of Lockerbie and The Cake, which had to close early because of the pandemic. She works at Salem Art Association's Bush Barn Art Center as an Exhibitions Director. Her hobbies are reading, painting and taking care of her two cats, Mrs. Pickles and Mufasa.
Beverly is retired and loves to travel with her husband of almost 42 years. Beverly loves camping, fishing, reading, writing and crafting and especially musical theater. Beverly is a proud mom of two boys, living and working in California and Chicago. She is also the proud “pet parent” to two very spoiled cats.
Beverly has enjoyed attending Jo Dodge’s Acting Workshops (nine workshops and counting) after seeing a “serendipitous” ad in the Westside Newspaper at Urban Grange Coffee Shop in 2019. Jo, and everyone she has met in the Pentacle (and surrounding areas) Theatre Community, has given her an amazing new set of life skills and many new, lifelong friends.
This is Beverly’s second show, with her previous experience being an Assistant Director/Lights and Sound for Over The River and Through The Woods last season at Pentacle Theatre. She is happy to be perfecting her behind-the-scenes skills with this poignant, lovely show, especially creating food props, which scratches her crafting itch.
David’s history with Pentacle Theatre includes as an actor, director, board member and volunteer. As an actor, he played the iconic R.P. McMurphy in One Flew Over The Cuckoo's
Nest, the comedic J.P. Worthing in The Importance of Being Earnest and more. His performance as Jerry in The Zoo Story in 2017 earned him several awards for his outstanding portrayal. As a director, David has brought his passion and expertise to productions such as Dracula and Of Mice and Men. His theater-related work experience extends beyond Pentacle as he has also worked at The Verona Studio and other regional theaters. When not at the theater, you may find David exploring the Pacific Northwest with Heathre and Huckleberry.
This is Cameron’s first production at Pentacle and his first experience in theater acting. He attended Jo Dodge's acting workshop prior to being cast and is excited to take part in his first show. When he is not working he enjoys being active, traveling and guitar.
Every week, get the rundown on Salem's can't-miss events in arts + entertainment + culture
Jennifer Killikelly works in the community as a social worker. She is a certified health coach, a wife of 23 years and the mother of two humans and two fur babies. She was
introduced to the Pentacle Theatre in 2019 when she started taking Jo Dodge’s workshop. It was there that she made great friends and developed a love for the theater.
In addition to taking the workshop at least eight times, Jennifer had the opportunity to grow in the theater as an Assistant Director on Over The River and Through the Woods in 2022. Rabbit Hole is Jennifer’s debut role in a show as a cast member.
Nat
Nancy has played a variety of roles at Pentacle Theatre. She was on stage in Cabaret (1992), South Pacific (1995), Dracula (1995) and Equus (2002). She wrote the music and played the flute for The Glass Menagerie in 1992 and then again for The Elephant Man in 2018. She also played in the orchestra for Man of La Mancha and Gypsy. She has made props and sets, worked behind the scenes as dresser or with props and run lights and sound for more shows than she can count beginning with Strange Snow in 1990. She has also been in a number of plays at Albany Civic Theater and also Gallery Theater in McMinnville.
Nancy recently married her wonderful husband Mark and is thankful for his support to return to the stage. She is the owner of Wildcat Studio which is an art studio and full custom picture frame shop. She loves the work she gets to do for people and finds it fun and meaningful.
Heather is actively involved with theater in the Mid-Willamette Valley and has been a director, actor, board member and committee volunteer at Pentacle Theatre. Some of her favorite directing experiences include Yellow, God of Carnage and Sordid Lives. Her favorite roles include Betty in The Great American Trailer Park, Lady of the Lake in Spamalot, Fantine in Les Miserables and Judy in 9 to 5: The Musical. Other theater-related experience includes The Little Mermaid in the Elsinore Theatre’s first production of Disenchanted! and in the Ensemble of Enlightened Theatrics’ production of Sweeney Todd. Heather works in employee benefits with Aldrich Benefits. She loves spending time with her husband Bryan and two extremely spoiled felines.
Every five years the Pentacle Theatre Governing Board honors as Lifetime Members five people who have been active in Pentacle Theatre for at least 20 years. We also remember fondly those Lifetime Members who are no longer with us.

Pentacle Theatre would not be possible without the support of the following grantors:
For almost 70 years this theater has thrived because of its strong and passionate volunteer base. From up in the soundbooth down to the concessions stand, we are supported by hundreds of volunteers who have made Pentacle Theatre what it is today. I am so grateful to our volunteers for putting on moving productions like Rabbit Hole, and it really does take a village.
To the production team, thank you for your vision.
To the cast and crew, thank you for your vulnerability.
To the hospitality volunteers, thank you for taking care of our patrons.
To the operations volunteers - marketing, facilities, development, and so much more - thank you for keeping our lights on.
If you are interested in volunteering at Pentacle, visit our website and select “Get Involved” to learn how YOU can get in on the action.
Enjoy the show!
Emma Thurston Governing Board PresidentPentacle Theatre in Salem is located within the ancestral homelands of the Kalapuya, Yamhill, and Luckiamute people who had lived here since time immemorial.
In the 1850s, these tribes were displaced by colonization and were eventually resettled on reservations. We celebrate and honor the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde and the Confederated Tribes of Siletz members, their resilience and their present and future right to this land.
Ticket sales alone do not cover the cost of our productions. Your membership and donation help make this theater possible. Thank you! This list represents gifts between 1/1/2021 and 04/17/2023.
