Mission Point Lighthouse

August 2024-Shelly, Lucia Beckett daytrip to the Leelenau Peninsula in Michigan

We started our quick overnight trip from East Lansing. Today was a rainy cloudy day but it does not bother me at all. I am visiting from Florida and the fresh cool air feels so nice!

Our trip took about 3.5 hours and on the way we stopped at Randy’s Diner in Traverse City for food and sweet treats.

The lighthouse park had amazing views of the bay with that crystal clear water! We hiked a bit for some forest bathing since I don’t often get the chance.

Parking is free and it wasn’t super crowdedeven being Saturday and summer! What a bonus!

We ended today’s adventure at Indigo Bluff campground in Empire. Nice place. Clean with hot showers.

Tomorrow’s adventure is to Fishtown!

There’s so much to explore ‘Up North’ - and so little time. Wish I could stay longer.
