Rocky North 4-H Multi Club has been in operation for 48 years. When the club first started it was a beef club, but the members decided to open the club up to greater possibilities and change over to a multi club. The main project is still beef, where we offer market beef projects, carcass projects and female/breeding projects. In addition to our beef program we offer many other projects for our members that are both livestock and non-livestock based projects. We also have K9, goat, baking, and Cleaver kid that run each year. Then each year we also find new project opportunities for the members to participate in if they choose. In the past we have offered woodworking, small engines, welding, or scrapbooking. This year some new project opportunities are Bee Keeping Project, Safety Project, Farm Tractor Project. Our members get wellrounded project options in our multi club along with leadership, communication, judging, marketing, entrepreneurial skills and community connection. We encourage our members to reach out beyond club level and participate in other 4-H events at district, regional and provincial levels. Our club is a great place for members to socialize, make lifelong friendships and of course eat great food.

Walker Ogilvie R-S

Sara Hall

Hi, my name is Walker Ogilvie and I’d like to thank Royal Oilfield for purchasing my steer last year, and invite everyone down to the show and sale to see my home grown steer, Stewy. He is a long backed Simmental cross steer that is sure to fill your freezer nice and full of high quality home grown meat.

R-N

Hello my name is Sara Hall, this is my first year in -H. My steers name is Tyrone he's 1/2 Hereford and 1/2 Black Angus cross. This past October his starting weight was 860 lbs. He's been getting fed crushed barley and 4-H feed twice a day and has shown pleasant weight gain. This year I hope to learn all the tips and tricks that go along with showing steers. I've been riding horses since I could walk, but last year my little sister Abby Hall joined this club. So I thought I'd give it a go with a steer project to see where it might take me. So far it's gone as much as me being drug around.

Timory Nicolay R-N

Hello everyone! My name is Timory Nicolay, this is my fourth year as a member in the Rocky North 4-H Multi Club. This year I would like to introduce you to my market beef project, the one and only Mumbo! Mumbo is a Simmental/ Angus cross and I think it's safe to say that he has been the best steer I've had in all my years in 4-H. Mumbo came from my grandpas farm and weighed 760lbs at our first weigh-in at the end of October. So far he has been enjoying his grain and has gained a lot of weight. He is also good at leading even though it's not his favorite, but so far he hasn't fought it much. Mumbo also really enjoys his scratches, his favorite spot to be scratched is on his tail. I would also like to give a huge thanks to my buyer from last year, Modern Electric, thank you for your support. I hope to see you all in May at our next show and sale where Mumbo will be on offer!

Ireland Somers R-S

Kole Scott

He is a purebred Simmental steer. He is quite a big boy and he is still packing on the pounds! I have really enjoyed 4-H all of these years, and I am sad to only have a few years left. I would like to thank Clearwater Oilfield Services for buying my steer last year. I would also like to thank everyone who came out and supported 4-H last year. And I hope to see you all at the show and sale May 23rd. This year I am going to DONATE the proceeds from my Market Steer to the Cancer Center! In hopes of bringing my Aunty home to her children! Also hopefully to help other young moms as well who have been diagnosed with this deadly disease!! It is everyone’s worst nightmare to loose their mother, especially when you are just a kid!!

Hi, my name is Thomas Lobley and I am a third year Junior with the Rocky South 4-H Beef Club. My steer this year is an Angus cross named Fred. I just wanted to say a big thank you to Challand Pipeline Ltd for buying my steer last year and that I look forward to seeing you all at the 2024 Rocky Beef 4-H Show and Sale in May. Thank you for your continued support of 4-H.

Hi my name is Haleigh Mason and I am excited for this years Show and Sale. This year didn’t start out too great. Now I have Demetrious. This is my 5th year in 4-H with the Rocky North 4-H Multi Club. I love riding horses, basketball and hockey and just hanging out with friends in my free time. This year is the first year all 4 of my siblings are in 4-H. Me and my sister are Intermediates and my Brother is a Junior and my two little sisters are Cleaver kids this year. I know my steer is going to make a big delicious steak for your plate. Sure hope to see you all at Show and Sale May 23, 2024 at the Kurt Browning Arena. Show starts at 11:00am and supper starts at 5:00pm Sale to follow around 7:00pm.
