General Manager's Letter Dear Penn Club Members, November is one of my favorite months at The Penn Club. The days get shorter, the clubhouse feels warmer, and the holiday season gets going under our roof. It’s a time of gathering and gratitude, and there is plenty of both on the calendar. Our Annual Thanksgiving Buffet is one of the Club’s most cherished traditions, and seats are filling quickly. Enjoy the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in the morning, then join us for a festive holiday meal with your family and friends starting at 11 AM. If you haven’t reserved your table yet, I encourage you to do so soon with Tony Kontos at 212-403-6628. This month’s programming has something for everyone. We’ll open the month with humorist Gabe Henry and his irreverent history of English spelling in Spellcheck This! On Veterans Day, U.S. Army veteran and entrepreneur Anthony Pompliano joins us for a conversation on leadership and making decisions under pressure. Later in the month, come hungry to Taste of Penn, where four Penn alumni founders will share their stories and their products. Art lovers can preview masterworks at Christie’s or join Efren Olivares (W’88) for a gallery walk through TriBeCa. Full details are in the pages that follow, and registration is easy on The Penn Club app. Our community grows stronger with every new face. On Monday, November 16th, please bring a prospective member to our Member Refer a Member Reception in the Tarnopol Room. You’ll receive a $250 house credit when they join, and your guest will receive 50% off the initiation fee. As the holidays approach, now is the time to plan ahead. Our guest rooms are a comfortable home base for visiting family and friends, and December dates fill quickly. If you’re planning a holiday party, corporate gathering or family celebration, our Private Events team would love to help you create something memorable. None of this happens without our dedicated staff. This quarter, I’m proud to recognize Richard Ramnath, Houseman in our Housekeeping Department, as our Employee of the Quarter. Richard consistently goes above and beyond for the good of the Club, often taking on more than is asked of him without being asked. He has also personally trained each of our newest team members. Richard is an extremely hard worker and a true example of the care that defines The Penn Club. Please join me in congratulating him! As we enter this season of thanks, I’d like to bring your attention to our Employee Holiday Fund. Every day, our staff in every department create exceptional experiences for you, from the warm greeting at the front door to the care taken in your guest room. Please consider showing your appreciation with a contribution to the Employee Holiday Fund. You can give through The Penn Club app, our website, or by contacting our Accounting Department at 212-403-6612. Wishing you and your loved ones a warm and happy Thanksgiving. Warm regards,
Kevin O’Brien General Manager/COO
