THE SWEETHEART SWING
NIGHT OF ASSISTS

Spit shine your shoes… we’re going dancin’! On Valentine’s Day, the Pittsburgh Penguins and Highmark were proud to present the 2nd Annual Night of Assists charity gala in support of the Penguins Foundation. The ice of PPG Paints Arena was transitioned into a dance floor for this 1940s themed event where guests were treated to big band music amidst dapper décor. Penguins players dressed the part with suspenders and newsboy caps, which added to the swing era event vibe. Guests had the opportunity to play casino and themed games with the team, interact with select players in the photo booth or simply chat over crafty cocktails with those tending the bar. Guests attending the V.I.P. Reception, proudly presented by TribLive.com, enjoyed a wine and champagne tasting, while listening to tunes of the times selected by Guest DJ Brian Dumoulin. Without a doubt, Night of Assists: The Sweetheart Swing was THE Pens party of the year!
In total, $450,000 was raised for the Penguins Foundation during the 2nd Annual Night of Assists!
Walking into the arena that night was like walking into a time machine and coming out in the swing era where everything from the music to the food was jazzed. Getting to interact with our on-ice heroes in old time photos, playing black jack and even bartending made this night something I will remember for a long time to come. Everything was absolutely amazing.
