A flexible approach and on-site facilities provide the perfect solution for new or existing clients, whether they are looking for a brief pit stop, a longer-term berthing option or the ability to conduct a Mediterranean-based refit. Visiting yachts can choose to self-manage projects or engage with a dedicated in-house multi-lingual project management team.
Our Marina is set in the safe harbour of Vilanova i la Geltrú, just 45 minutes from the centre of Barcelona and 30 minutes from the city’s international airport, which boasts a dedicated private jet terminal. With the Balearics under a day’s sail away, our base offers our clients a convenient location in the heart of the Mediterranean, where they can safely and securely berth their superyachts.
The Marina has 48 superyacht berths ranging between 25 and 130 metres for yachts with a maximum draught of 6.5 metres. Each berth is serviced by a pedestal, complete with decalcified water and electricity supply. Visitors will find modern, clean facilities with a superfast Wifi connection, private parking, laundry services and a free on-site gym for their convenience.
Safety and security are of paramount importance. We’re ISPS certified and offer 24-hour security and surveillance services. We also operate a comprehensive environmental programme throughout the entire Marina to ensure a clean and welcoming environment for guests and crew.
Focused on small to medium-scale refits, the Pendennis Vilanova Technical Service Centre offers hard standing slots for more than 20 yachts and 30,000 square-metres of space, as well as a 200-tonne and 620-tonne travel hoists. The 620-tonne travel hoist allows the team to haul out the majority of the Mediterranean superyacht fleet.
Following multiple rounds of investment since 2018 from our British parent company Pendennis in Falmouth, UK, the yard has undergone considerable improvement. Three key phases of development have been carried out to improve the facilities on offer. The Technical Service Centre at Pendennis Vilanova was launched in the autumn of 2019, following the completion of initial works. During this period the 620-tonne travel hoist was transported to Vilanova from our UK home-base.
The second phase of development completed in 2021 included further upgrades to the hard standing area, laying the ground with a high-quality reinforced surface, totalling 30,000sqm.
The third phase of development was completed in 2023 and included the creation of a specialist paint facility with state-of-the-art spray booths, as well as offices and training space. The new 14 x 7m booth allows for the painting of tenders, yacht sections and components without the need to erect tents or transport items off-site.
Thanks to the investment into Pendennis Vilanova’s Technical Service Centre, our team can assist with all aspects of superyacht care, maintenance or repair, with minimal disruption to our clients' planned season. From Caribbean or Mediterranean season preparation works or midseason antifouling, to class survey assistance or pre-purchase surveys, Pendennis Vilanova is poised to accommodate your requirements.

A Pendennis project manager will always be assigned to a project in Vilanova to ensure it runs smoothly. We offer the ability for clients to either self-manage or utilise our team of in-house tradespeople during their stay, with many choosing a hybrid of the two options for their project.
Our multi-lingual team of support staff and tradespeople have a wealth of experience and knowledge in the superyacht arena, and our inhouse teams can assist in marine engineering, electrical, joinery and painting trades, backed up by a trusted team of contractors. A large proportion of the Vilanova team have worked for Pendennis at our British home-base in Falmouth, UK, and bring their many years of experience to the thriving world-class superyacht business.
“We first came to Vilanova around five or six years ago, shortly after Pendennis took over the yard. Since then, we've returned almost every year for haul-outs, paint jobs, and this time, a significant refit. Pendennis Vilanova provided a project manager throughout our stay, and we collaborated closely, holding daily meetings to align on the project's direction. Its proximity to Barcelona and being on the mainland makes sourcing parts easier, and the local contractors are excellent.”

“The success of this logistically challenging project was driven by the outstanding collaboration between the crew, the Vilanova team, and their trusted subcontractors. Every stage was carefully planned and executed to meet the tight timeline. A truly impressive effort from all involved!”
PROJECT MANAGER MY A2
The main objective of A2’s refit in Vilanova was to upgrade the generators to improve emissions and bring them up to modern standards. The team removed the generators through a hull opening underwater, as this method was the most efficient and had the least impact on the vessel's interior and the crew living onboard. Over the course of 60 days, the team disassembled the two old generators with the help of a custom lifting frame, removed a section of the hull to lower them out of the vessel and modified the generator beds to accommodate the additional height required by the diesel particulate filter. They then disassembled the new generators and repeated the process in reverse. The vessel was relaunched, and the new generator sets were subsequently load bank tested and approved by Lloyd’s 90 days after the initial haul-out. In addition to the generator upgrade, some minor pre-season works were also carried out.
Vilanova i la Geltrú is a vibrant and friendly city with a population of over 65,000 and a wealth of amenities and leisure facilities. Vilanova is the capital of the small region of Garraf, which remains refreshingly unspoilt despite its closeness to Barcelona. The area has 25 kilometres of large sandy beaches and tiny secluded bays almost hidden beneath rocky cliffs. The Marina and Technical Service Centre are just a short walk from the town, which boasts an exquisite local cuisine as a result of its strong agricultural and fishing heritage. With easy and regular links to Palma de Mallorca, Vilanova i la Geltrú is also close to ski location Andorra and the Spanish Pyrenées for winter sports enthusiasts. Long stretches of sandy beach are a kite surfer’s paradise, and we offer a free on-site gym to help take care of our crew’s health and wellbeing. Our Marina also benefits from an on-site bar and restaurant, laundry services, private parking next to the berths, and a dedicated customer service team.
Pendennis Vilanova is at the heart of the local community, frequently supporting local sports clubs and community events such as a cycling team, the local annual half marathon, handball tournaments, wine tasting socials, and more. The development of our Technical Service Centre and Marina has also had a wider benefit on the local community – increasing job opportunities in the local area.

Marine ecosystems face unprecedented pressures from human activities in the ocean. At Pendennis Vilanova, our ongoing commitment to the environment is highlighted through the Marine Regeneration System installed in our Marina in collaboration with Ocean Ecostructures. Using regenerative technology, our Biomimetic Micro-Reefs replicate how a natural reef works by providing a breeding space and shelter for microfauna attracted to the natural substrate. The Life Boosting Units are specifically designed to not interfere with marine operations. To date, we have tripled the number of species hosted in the Marina, increased the carbon fixation by four times to 200kg, and generated almost five times the total nitrogen biomass.

We want to ensure that the time our clients and crew spend with us is enjoyable, memorable and most of all, fun. We consider all yachts that we have refitted to be part of the “Pendennis fleet” and enjoy welcoming clients back again and again to provide through-life support and continuity of care.
We love to make the most of the Spanish sunshine and host regular activities such as barbecues, wine tasting evenings and live music for our clients and yacht crew. In addition, Vilanova is known for its popular festivals, which are among the richest and most varied in Catalonia, including the week-long carnival which has been declared a Heritage Festival of National Interest. We encourage all visitors to engage with Catalan culture and to make the most of everything that the vibrant community of Vilanova i la Geltrú has to offer.
“Pendennis has always been our go to shipyard. The outstanding workmanship and professional nature of all your staff allows the project to run like clockwork. I have always had a great relationship with Pendennis and I can ensure that it will be a long lasting one. It shows in the amazing comments we get from our guests and charter brokers.”
