Encouraging Professional Development
Mike Crowell, who served on the PEMAC Board of Directors from 2016 - 2022, sent along this photo of the most recent Maintenance Management Professional (MMP) grads from Irving Forest Services. He wanted to share the story of what it has taken to celebrate the success of every one of the 40+ grads of the PEMAC MMP Program at Irving and to encourage other employers to consider a similar approach:
I’m proud that among other things that we have been able to standardize across our pulp and paper division, we have set up this tradition. For every grad of the PEMAC MMP program I personally pick up their certificate, get it framed in a standard frame (the identical frame to my own certificate), and deliver it to them at a photo-shoot.
We recognize their achievement at the site’s monthly staff meeting which also helps to promote and influence others to enroll in the program. Looking ahead, Andrew Booker, who is with the pulp and paper division and is now serving on the PEMAC Board, will ensure this tradition continues for the next 40 MMP Grads.
Congratulations to the most recent Irving MMP grads Rick Baker, Stephane Fortin, Trevor Cook and
