Welcome to our 2021 Sale Thank you to all our past customers, and a warm welcome to all our new guests. We welcome all, in person, on line, on the telephone or by third party proxy. We appreciate your interest in our program. Events of the last 12 months have affected all of our lives in some form or another. We will not dwell on any of these events, but will stress the changes we have made adjusting to the many changes and concerns. First of all, at the urging of many customers, we are moving the sale to the ranch. One of the big changes we are making is that all bulls will be in display pens for one week prior to the sale. This will allow those with health concerns to look over the offering without concerns of being in a crowded situation. Please let us know if you will be coming to preview bulls before the sale, we will have a hot cup of coffee for you. The sale will be a video sale with no animals going thru the auction ring. This has become an accepted method of selling seed stock in the past few years.

We have adopted the practice of using multiple sires in all breeding pastures. The range management results and breed up have been very successful. One of the shortcomings of this management tool is that all calves need to be DNA parent verified which takes extra time. At the present time, IGENITY, the AGA contractor to do the DNA analysis is backlogged and has not given us our DNA results. The catalogue has calculated EPD’s based on dam traits and have

EPDs in this catalogue do not include sire influence. At printing time DNA results for genomic EPDs and parent verification were not yet returned. Igenity, like many companies has experienced labor issues due to the COVID epidemic. Data will be published on our website and included on the supplement sheet when it becomes available.

If you cannot make it to the sale and wish to purchase a bull, please contact us. We will help select bulls for you to review. You may review the catalog and video to assist in your selection. On sale day, we will assign a third-party to call you and review the bull before the sale. We will have someone on the phone to bid for you, bid online using DV auction, or you may ask one of the Livestock Representatives to bid for you. Your bid will remain confidential and will be handled professionally. When we deliver the bull to you, if he is not what you think we described, we will refund 100% of your purchase price.

Bull Performance Information -

EPDs, birth weights and adjusted weaning weights are published in the sale book. Adjusted yearling weights and scrotal measurements will be available sale day in the form of a supplement sheet and will also be posted prior to the sale on www. chimneybutteranch.com as soon as the results are available. Reference sire information, the sale book and videos are all on our website, www.chimneybutteranch.com.

Delivery -

Option 1: Take your bulls home the day of the sale and receive $100 off your purchase price. Option 2: We feed the bulls until April 1, provide a breeding soundness exam, and deliver the bulls up to 350 miles at no charge. If the delivery is over 350 miles, we will work with you to insure safe, prompt and economical delivery. No delivery will cost the buyer in excess of $250. We will feed the bulls for you after April 1, for $3.00 per day per bull. Buyer assumes all risk if bulls are left for us to feed. Insurance is recommended.

Storm Date - We will make every effort to hold the sale regardless of the weather. The technology we have in place will allow us to hold the sale in case of a storm. All animals are presented on the video and the sale will be broadcast over the internet on www.dvauction.com. We will have phones available for bidders to call in and place their bids. In other words, you can buy your bull from the comfort of your home or office regardless of the weather or road conditions. Please call us if you cannot make the sale. We will postpone the sale if we feel road and weather conditions will place our help, customers or animals at excessive risk. Postponement will be announced on DVAuction, www.ChimneyButteRanch.com and local radio stations.

Insurance -

Ownership transfers at time of sale. It is recommended that bulls be insured. Bulls left for us to feed are at the buyers risk. Insurance is recommended for all bulls returned for us to care for.

Retained Interest - Unless otherwise specified, Chimney Butte Ranch reserves 1/3 semen interest on any bull offered for sale. Any collection for our use, or sale, will be done at our expense, and the customers convenience.

His mother is one of the last Majesty daughters we have in production, she is a flush mate to the X107 bull and has a weaning ratio of 108. She would be a dam of merit, but broke her ankle as a calf before breeding, we held her open for a year to heal. This bull stands on his own. High 205 weight bull for the year, great structure, big volume, and definitely seed stock quality. Look close, there are few bulls offered this good. Retaining 50% semen interest. We will collect this bull prior to delivery.
