Annual Report 2017- 2018 ~ Thank You For Giving To the Forest Ridge Community, Gratitude. That word might be the perfect one to describe how I felt following the 2017-2018 school year. After a year marked by changes and uncertainty, I am filled with gratitude at the strength, love, persistence and determination of our faculty, staff and administration in keeping Forest Ridge moving forward. We are a school defined by our mission to develop “Women Who Can,” so there was no surprise that Forest Ridge women so very successfully piloted us through a challenging year. Despite the challenges, Forest Ridge continued to receive great support from current parents, faculty and staff, and alumnae. Our “5 Weeks to Success” campaign for the Forest Ridge Fund was once again a triumph. The faculty and staff and the Board led the way with 100 percent giving totals – and we are so proud of the fact that three grades – fifth, sixth and eighth – also had 100 percent participation. In all, Middle School parent participation was 97 percent and high school parent participation was 87 percent. Thus, The Evening of Celebration in February was truly a celebration of the dedication and generosity of the Forest Ridge community. The evening also allowed us to showcase student talent and indeed, celebrate another year in which Forest Ridge remained true to its mission and enjoyed the heartfelt support of its community.

This year has given me great hope and excitement about the future. Acting Head Julie Thenell Grasseschi’s amazing guidance led us to imagine many possibilities about educational leadership at Forest Ridge – which has now been realized with the formation of a new leadership model. And with the recent appointment of Mary Rose Guerin as Forest Ridge’s next Head of School, beginning July 1, 2019, there is palpable excitement about the future of our school. That future, by the way, is one that is made possible by your generosity and by your steadfast belief in how we educate the girls in our care. It is my continued belief that the goals of Sacred Heart Education commit us to a spirit of generosity, a spirit of engagement, and a spirit of commitment to excellence, community, and service. Our community’s belief in those goals and in our girls, as well as your support of Forest Ridge, is a significant reason why we share our gratitude in this annual report for 2017-2018. Sincerely, S. Campbell Mathewson Chair, Board of Trustees
